Pesonally i want a cd rom

Rev7 09-28-2008 01:01 PM

On a disk.

Giant Graffiti 09-28-2008 01:05 PM

I'm personally rooting for it to be on floppy disk.

Try 8,000 of them... :p

It'd have to be a disc. Mainly because I like to physically own things that i've paid for.

Plus, then I don't to worry about reinstalling.

Ctrl Alt Del 09-28-2008 02:04 PM

Disk, no contest. DVD, please.

It's a pain to download full new games, I do it only when there's no other alternative.

Indeed. The download limits in my country force me to be careful about how much I download, and downloading games, especially newer ones, would take a whole chunk out of my download volume, considering they need DVD's because of their size. I also like to have the DVD box on my shelve.

Most people would just go 'Floppy What?"

mattig89ch 09-29-2008 09:59 AM

I would prefer it to be an RPG, not an MMO.

Prime 09-29-2008 01:42 PM

I will take anything that will prevent the KOTOR gaming universe from containing "l33t d00ds."

awww.. that was gonna be my MMO online name :fist: :xp:

How about "Ipone Juu"? :D

Steve-O Kreesh 09-29-2008 05:08 PM

I can't rely on comcast to keep my internet connection going for 30 minutes, let alone the hours I would spend on Kotor 3. Disc all the way!!!!

Blix 09-29-2008 05:48 PM

Disc for me as well.

GeneralPloKoon 09-29-2008 06:42 PM

Disc power!

Ferc Kast 09-29-2008 09:34 PM

I say, "Disc FTW!" ;)

disk, it just seems a little more convenient in some sense of practicality of having it be tangible rather than straight digital.

Endorenna 09-30-2008 12:19 AM

I don't really care. Disk is all well and good, but an MMO has online interaction, which I find very fun.

JesusIsGonnaOwnSatan 09-30-2008 05:12 AM

me: disk. why? because i always have to have my favorite stuff on physical cds. even food and drink.
and preferably cd-roms. dvds are all well and good, but generally cds are faster.
and cds would have more artwork on it :D
but i doubt it would be cd. if it was, itd probably be 5-8 discs. :eyepop:
its about time they did something like stick games on flash drives! it would be more convenient. like have a 'game ring: a keychain ring with heaps of usb games on it. buuut it would be chunky, and it would be a whole lot easier for some grunt to mug you and grab your $500 gaming collection.

bring on the holographic storage devices! they look so awesome! and we can call them holo cubes as homage to star wars! (due 2010 i think... unlike cds they hold data all inside the volume of the cube. 1 cubic inch=1.5tb i think. not sure)
FYI: did you know that the main mode of data storage changes ever ten years? (average)

Endorenna 09-30-2008 08:02 AM

As long as I can plug it into my computer, I don't care.

PS: Holographic storgae devices? That's a new one...

There isn't anything that forbids a MMO to be distributed on a tangible media. Take Guild Wars as an example.

yeah i saw it in a book. it had a really neat looking picture of it... i found this on google:http://common.ziffdavisinternet.com/...ges/_HOLO1.GIF
it was the most similar one to the picture i found. the one i saw had blue lasers and the contraption looked a bit cooler.
i found an article on it on howstuffworks.com:http://computer.howstuffworks.com/ho...hic-memory.htm
think about it: its about as new as cds were to people when floppies ruled.
cd= hundreds of floppies. holocube= thousands of cds. :eyepop:
can you imagine games that are 10terabytes big as im sure they would be soon? :D

Endorenna 09-30-2008 11:21 PM

Hmm, interesting. Thanks JIGOS.

I stand corrected. :)

Bastila Sham 10-02-2008 05:44 AM

No disk = no sale.

Simple as that.

Rabish Bini 10-02-2008 06:39 AM

Stupid question

Xarwarz 10-02-2008 08:56 PM

disk you can't mod mmo's

Taos 10-03-2008 01:29 AM

They won't call it Kotor 3 [at least I don't think so] but hell yeah, I'd rather have it online....and I'll just leave it at that. ^_^

I'm not gonna ask why, but I'll just say that's what the MMO's for

Right, which is exactly what I want. A SW mmo from Bioware. I don't care when in the timeline it is. Though if it does happen to be in the Old Republic timeline, that will be just fine with me. :)

Christos K 10-04-2008 04:00 AM

Heres what I want.
FIRST ABOVE ALL OTHER THINGS.
KotOR 3 with awesome story with no cut content. A full perfect finish to the awesome trilogy.
SECOND
If people want more KotOR they should go back to the Mandalorian Wars and (create a new trilogy set durring Mandolorian Wars) we should be able to see how it all went down and stuff. New character. Infact I wouldnt mind if we got to play as a Mandalorian.
THIRD
An MMO might be fun if it goes the right way and LucasArts is forbidden to request change from the maker. (this is what happened to SWG, LucasArts wanted to make a game that could beat WoW so they forced SOE to screw everything up)

SD Nihil 10-05-2008 05:28 PM

Hello. I think the game should be online for the sake of the future. Meaning since so many things are online, I think KOTOR should have an online game too.

jrrtoken 10-05-2008 06:03 PM

Zip disk.

I agree as well when it comes to that :)

SW01 10-10-2008 04:15 PM

By the time I got the thing properly downloaded the game would have been forgotten about...

So disc! DVD-ROM please!

LOL That is very true. By the time I had gotten SWG reinstalled on my new computer it was already NGE.

Ultimate Vader 10-11-2008 01:07 AM

DVD wins this (if this is a match). Anyway, I think people will like SPRPG KOTOR 3 more than MMORPG KOTOR 3. SPRPG KOTOR 3 FTW.

Lance Monance 10-11-2008 09:14 AM

I prefer games to run without disc, but for installing it a DVD is fine.

CrisG 10-21-2008 03:00 AM

DVD for inital content, servers for updates and patches and for the live content.

This is exciting indeed.
