Help Save the Republic Commando Boards!
 

Well, I thought since RD has one of these the RC boards need one too. Any ideas of how we can keep this place active.

Uhhh, no... Before, it was the CCP keeping it going...

ya no i think the only threads keeping this place open is the "Karren Traviss talks..." thread and the "Republic Commando 2?" thread are the only two left keeping this place alive

Yeah, it would seem that way, and it's always the same people commenting, keeping it alive...us and a few others. I'll start thinking on a possible lifesaver here....

good luck sounds good but its harder than you think not tryin to be pessimistic but the guys know its true ccp was basically our "cash crop" so to speak

Yeah, that could probably spread the popularity of this forum, a competition would work well!!! We'd have to make it somehow more unique then the others, though. Something that could draw the people's attention to our forum. "Best Sev's Fate" is a good idea. Any others?

^: There's all of 4 people posting regularly, how would you get the word out? None of the admins are crazy enough to post an announcement about it. Who would vote on it anyway?

Hello. I'm new here. So, what's this place?

This is the forum that si just about on it's deathbed. There was a thread called Custom Commando Project, which got locked because of general stupidity. The 2nd thread got locked too. Since then, all of 4 people have been posting regularly in these forums. The other threads besides the 3 that are being posted in are from 2 - 3 months ago. RD, the unofficial spam forum, was also on the verge of dying, so the regular posters set up a "Save RD" thread. But unlike RC, they actually have a history, so they were never on the verge of dying off to begin with, however, no one gives a crap about the RC forums.

There it is in a nutshell.

So, what's the idea?

the idea is that if we can bring some popularity back to the RC forums then we might be able to save this place as for an idea for getting the word out how about we post in the KotOR and Community Discussion forums get the word around like that.

any other ideas besides best "Sev's Fate" and the voting would take placelike this

then someone else would come along and read it and give it a grade on a 0-10 scale (0 being the worst 10 being the best) and an explanation for their rating.

If we come up with a couple more ode as, we could make a poll and see which one viewers want. I know some people (jmac, Devon, Wiggins) still lurk around here sometimes. Maybe we could have everyone come up with a custom commando, and have LiWar make them, or you Da_man if you still do it.

Of the fanfic idea. M@RS wrote a pretty cool one about Sev's fate a while ago. Plus CommanderQ, Da_man, and myself already have written fics, and I'm sure the others would like to try.

You all should start an online comic, or something for RC. I bet that might attract a few people if you put something in your sigs with link to the thread. (I am currently working on something for M@RS' Sev's fate fan fic, though it is taking a a long time).

Yeah, I saw that on the CCP forum, Link. Good stuff. If only I had artistic skill...

You know, I've been trying to make a cheap comic comedy of RC, something probably pretty ridiculous, but that's the case with comedy, comics are good. So, the idea of comics could somehow..promote the forum.

Hey, why don't we make the RC boards as a place for debating? Versus forum. Jedi or not, up to you. RC is about battle, right? We can make this place as a versus forum and ask the moderators to forbid other boards to make versus threads! I'm sure crazy as* people will come here to debate!

It's called Kavar's Corner in the KoTOR section. Just let the forum die in peace.

Kavar's corner is more of politic debate than "versus" debate.

There was a politic sub-forum for it. It's just full of politics because of the election, and the threads are still ongoing. Kavar's is just a general debate/serious forum, it just happens to be full of politic threads that haven't died off yet.

Yeah, the versus idea doesn't sound half bad, I'm for it anyways. It would definately be unique, but how would we go about making it? Rules and ways to post the versus threads?

Well, I come up with that idea because of Kavar's Corner's reputation. It talks about politics everyday, and it's not my taste. I'm a SW fan, not a politician. Well, the only notable thread in there is HK-47 vs General Grievous, and it's not so interesting. Kinda spite IMO.

I just want to make a "real" versus forum here. Like some other sites. Those sites are really full of good debators and crazy debators. Tell me if you want to know about it.

@CQ: You should hook up with Padwon_Link. He's good at drawing RCs.

Hey guys. I have been gone ever since the 2nd CCP thread died, so I just came to check the site and, to tell to truth, its kinda depressing to see what hasn't been going on. But it's good to see that somebody's trying.

Btw, now that I know that things are looking bad for the board, i'll try to log in every now-and-then and try to help out. And also if I can do anything just post on my wall or send me a PM. I should be able to respond faster that way.

Oh and would be willing to help out with the comic, but it might take awhile, but once I get done with a couple of things and get a certain program I will be able to work on the comic (and M@RS' fanfic :) ) easily :D

Yeah, the comic idea and the fan fic may do nicely for the forum. We may make it yet!:D I'll be working on concepts of commandoes for the time being, I may have an idea or two yet to pop out...

So you have a scanner? You could use that to get your stuff online.

Yeah, or get someone you know to scan it.
