Mara Jade PC (NOW A TSL MOD)

NEW! NEW! NEW!

All right, everyone, I'm back with a super update! Mara Jade is now a playable PC in TSL, and she's much cooler than that old KOTOR mod I created below.

This time around I set it up so you can choose whether to always have the Mara Jade outfit or only when you have underwear on (the character, not you ;)).

Check out the pics and then download from my website or KOTORFiles!

http://fc05.deviantart.net/fs70/f/20...42-d4bjz6b.jpg

No long hair this time around. It just looked terrible.
Also there are some clipping issues.

OLD, OLD, OLD:
Here's my second mod! With it you can choose Mara Jade as your playable character. Yay! Now with TSLPatcher and working DS transistions!

Woot! Mara Jade 2.0 is now out!

Man I haven't even seen this file in ages, but I think this is the correct one.
Mara Jade for KOTOR

Make sure you check out the readme! VERY IMPORTANT! (not so much now with the TSL Patcher)

To try 2.0 before you buy...(aka pictures!)

End of the OLD, OLD, OLD

Moderators, is it possible to change the thread to read that it's a KOTOR/TSL mod in the heading instead of just a KOTOR mod?

HK-42 03-29-2009 07:59 PM

Looks good!

miro42 03-31-2009 05:31 PM

Hey, thanks! If you use it I hope you enjoy it!

Arátoeldar 03-31-2009 09:24 PM

Great work micro. :shades2::thumbsup: I just wish you would have used the TSL Patcher.

Hawkstrong16 03-31-2009 10:32 PM

That is great!
To bad I never play FM. being a guy it feels kinda wierd... lol
Would it be possible to use KSE to make Bastila look like that if I have it installed?

miro42 04-01-2009 03:32 AM

If Only

Oh, I wish I would too. However, when I try and use it something always goes horribly wrong. The readme file is just about useless to noobs like myself (or I just don't know how to read) and I haven't been able to find a well written tutorial on how to use it anywhere else, so override is my only resort.
But if you know of a tut that covers everything please send it along.
Oh and if you know how to use it and have the time to throw my mod into it that'd be great. If you send to me you'd be sure to have your name in my readme as the TSL Patcher Guru! ;)

I'm still a noob to the modding community but I don't think it would work. The files I used to create her head were from the player models which to my knowledge have no lipsync capabilites. When I get time I'll look into it or if you find out let me know.

Enter KSE, look for your savegame nº, then follow branch to NPC-Bastila-Appearance, clic on the right box and choose P_FEM_MJ_SML_01 or so. Clic on Change appearance button. Do the same with her portrait, Portrait field, look for Mara's file. When you are done with both editions, clic in apply changes (saves changes).

Adding that, you will have to edit her full body portrait (po_pbastila3.tpc) to fix all the portraits.

that's it for Bastila as Mara Jade ... :D

Don't do this if you already have Mara as PC unless you want twin sisters :xp:

Yeah, I'm not too pleased with the hair given in the KOTOR games. But I did what I could as far as tweaking it goes. I want to give her longer hair but it looks horrible if I just extended the vertices, not only the model, but the texture as well. Oh well, maybe I'll figure something else out someday. :D

Could you plz change the website? cuz i hate megaupload and the uncomprehensible letters for the free download. Can you upload it to rapidshare or somewhere else? It took me 15 tries to get an image that i could "see"

good job on the model :)

FYI these kinds of posts are no longer allowed here, talking about mod hosting is off-topic and is considered spam, please take this to PM's or if the modder isn't around anymore go to the appropriate thread indicated in the stuck FAQ thread. -RH

No problem. http://rapidshare.com/files/216858931/maraJade.zip
Megaupload used to have a nice letter system. I don't know why they changed it. Sorry for the inconvenience.

i always imagine kotor character with movie character face:

carth= han
bastila = mara
canderous = jango/boba
mission = aayla
juhani = assaj/aurra
hk47= super battle droid
t3 = r2d2
jolee = qui-gon/ rahn
malak= vader
saul = tarkin
bandon = maul
vandar = yoda
zhar= obi-wan
dorak= mace
vrook=ki adi

and theres luke head for male and leia head for female.

GlowingFauxPas 05-11-2009 01:29 PM

looks very nice but I wasn't able to get the darkside transitions to work. Is the problem on my end or are other people also having this problem?

also, a request: can I have a version of the character portraits without the emperor in them?

GeorgNihilus 05-11-2009 02:18 PM

Hmm... zeroes ...

About #21

There are missing zeros I believe in the zip :raise: in many files, like pfhmj1d.tga. Rename pfhmj1.tga to pfhmj01.tga, pfhmj1d.tga to pfhmj01d.tga and so on with the rest of the darkside transitions. They are correctly named in the Readme.

hope that helps bye ... :thmbup1:

GlowingFauxPas 05-11-2009 04:16 PM

Thanks - that helped for the changes to the face. The bodysuit, however, still doesnt change according to alignment. Actually, the body doesnt change if I put on armor either- maybe I did something wrong in installing it, or is that part of the mod design?

GeorgNihilus 05-11-2009 05:21 PM

So ...

You are right :) there's another problem in file pfbmj01d.tga, rename it to PFBMJD01.tga instead. That's another mistake of the zip. And the way it looks in the appearance.2da file, if you didn't edit it, all the armors-robes will look the same for you, like the blue underwear. You must edit through KotorTool if you want the armors to show properly.

bye good luck :thmbup1:

GlowingFauxPas 05-12-2009 03:22 AM

Thanks for the help. Which column do I not edit if I want the armor to appear but the no-armor appearance to stay the new one, but the rest of the appearances to be the default game models and textures?

GeorgNihilus 05-12-2009 11:00 AM

Keep these ...

Keep columns modela, texa and texaevil to keep the mod's underwear for Mara, edit from modelb to texj columns copying the values from other females rows, for example from a caucasian female (row 124, P_FEM_C_SML_02).

that should do it :)

GlowingFauxPas 05-12-2009 01:26 PM

Got it to work, thanks for the help!
A suggestion to the author: I would make the DS skin more pale and less bronzy, and make the pupils more distinct from the cornea. And also, fix all the file names. Otherwise, very nice, thanks for sharing!

Edit: Okay, I wasn't completely successful. All classes wear the soldier clothing model/textures for the clothing armor. What did I do wrong?

miro42 05-27-2009 02:08 AM

Hey GeorgNihilus, thanks for doing my job and answering people while I was away. I appreciate it!
To all the people who have problems, I'm back home now so I'll get right to work on fixing all my silly mistakes and reupload it.
@ GlowingFauxPas - PM me and I'll get you some non-Emperor portraits, and thanks for the suggestions.

Edit: Hey, to someone who is having issues with the DS transitions:
If the renaming of the files worked please let me know. I need to know if I need to change something in the TSLPatcher as well or if it was just my typos on the file names.
Again, sorry for the inconvenience, but I don't have time to run through a DS campaign right now to check. I'm really hoping that all I have to do is change some file names! It's been so long since I've used TSLPatcher, I don't even know if I remember the little I used to know! ;)

GlowingFauxPas 05-27-2009 01:38 PM

if you add EnableCheats=1 under the game options in swkotor.ini, you can cchange your character's alignment by typing adddarkside or addlightside and then a space and then a number from 1-100.

ironheart 05-28-2009 11:11 PM

This is cool. I love the blue outfit thingy.

I forgot to add, you have to type the code into the console, which is brought up by the tilde (~) key

Lady_Revan 06-07-2009 09:20 PM

She looks great, I love Revan with red hair.

Before I install I wanted to ask if this will replace any of the heads or if it's a new head and If I will still be able to get her to wear Revan's robes and the cool robes that come with Brotherhood of Shadow.

I was looking at you DA page and I thought you said she can only wear her pretty blue jumpsuit.

Thanks for your help and for the lovely mod

Edit: I'm loving the Mara model in game! I just wish there was someway to change her clothes since I've just downloaded the new BoS and some of RedHawkes robes.

Sorry LR, but you may not do the delete post and repost thing here, that's 'bumping' and not allowed. Only a mod maker can 'bump' a thread here and only for an update. -RH

GeorgNihilus 06-15-2009 01:33 PM

That's easy. Open appearance.2da file, check for the BoS SR row label that corresponds to that mod, if u want Matilda's robes maybe Party_NPC_Matilda label (that in 1st BoS, but I don't have installed already the 2nd BoS), start looking row higher than 500 for sure. Or find Red Hawke's robes row, don't have that mod either ... :raise:

Once located, backup appearance.2da file first just in case. Then copy modela, texa, texaevil, modelb and texb columns of the chosen robe/s over Mara's row columns, which is over 500 too obviously. This will modify only underwear and basic clothes.

For this to work naturally all the textures (tga), models (mdx/mdl) and txi files (if necessary) must already be installed in Override folder.

hope that helps ... :)

I realize that GeorgNihlus has already helped you out (another shout out to the man!), but just in case it's to confusing for either yourself or anyone else (or if you're just too lazy to edit the .2da file) I will be releasing another version that will have a side install for those who want to keep the robes and other costumes...armor, whatever. It will take a little time to get it out (hopefully I'll have it by the end of the weekend), but I truly truly mean that I'll be working on it this time! ;)

Endorenna 07-05-2009 01:43 AM

Groovalicious! I do so hope your friggin' computer will be able to play KOTOR again. After all, a computer that doesn't play KOTOR, is nary a computer at all.

Also in this issue: Hey plebs! Be sure to check back up at the top, because the new links have the working DS transitions now...at least they work on my computer!

Unfortunately, whatever I'm doing is not allowing me to change the 2da robes/armor thingy-ma-hoob. But that's okay! After looking over this version of Mara, I decided that I'm not a fan anymore. I'm going to remake her...bigger, faster, stronger, so instead of wasting time figuring out what I did wrong, I'm going to waste time starting from scratch! I hope to talk to y'all soon. If not, then you'll just have to wait...just like I'm still waiting for the next issue of Battle Chasers.
