Google links problem
Ok, I have a problem that has been going on for a few weeks now and do not know what to do.

I am currently using Firefox v3.6 and every time I do a google search and click on a link to go to a website, I some how get redirected to another site.

Example: Google> star wars wiki, the first link on the list is the official link to wookiepedia. I had clicked on this link and it took me to a completely different site.

Does this have something to do with my web browser? Can it be fixed?

have you run you're anti-virus lately? also, get malwarebytes anti-malware prog from here and run that.

Yes I ran it twice 2/3 days ago. I will give malwarebytes a try, thanks!

EDIT: I just ran malwarebytes and it found 1 infected file. Not sure if it has anything to do with my problem but only time will tell!

maybe you've got some weird browser add-on or toolbar that is changing links.

I checked out my add-ons and under extensions I found something called XULRunner 1.9.1, it is a runtime package. Maybe this?

Nope XUL is a part of FF.

Check your installed program list - if you have something like mywebsearch or any toolbar app that you dont recall installing - uninstall it.

For more info on mywebsearch.... read here

If there is anything you are unsure about - feel free to ask here before uninstalling.
