What was the last film you watched?

Are there any people on here who appreciate quality films new and old?

The last two films I watched were:

I thought it was good. Actually, I had low expectations for this movie knowing that sequels tend to suck. I was rather suprised though, the story was really well thought out, and the special effects were brilliant. I would recomend it to any super hero or action movie fans. 8/10

To be honest I didn't have a clue what to expect from this movie. I knew nothing about it, I just happened to noticed it was on free movies on demand. It was well worth the watch, though. The story, while predictable at times, was very good even though things weren't made clear in the the beginning. The special effects were good and the acting was excellent. 8.5/10

Bleach: Memories of nobody

Kill Charlie Varrick

Iron Man 2

It got real boring real quick, I felt it was diverging into too many different threads too quickly, gave practically no character exposure to Ivan Vanko, and was unfortunately trite, something I wouldn't call its original.

Totenkopf 05-19-2010 12:53 AM

If you mean at the movie theatre, probably Star Trek and Batman. Barely go anymore and don't really watch the telly more than about an hour at a time.

Astor 05-19-2010 02:11 AM

The Wild Bunch, last night.

And I can't actually remember the last time I went to the cinema - I think it was August last year or something.

Mav 05-19-2010 02:13 AM

saw Iron Man 2 this weekend, was aight

urluckyday 05-19-2010 02:37 AM

Mr. Smith Goes to Washington and a unique flick called "Renaissance" with Daniel Craig were the last 2 that I watched. Both very good movies.

If you appreciate movies, you need to see the former, and if you like 'different' artistic sci-fi films, see the latter.

Negative Sun 05-19-2010 02:46 AM

Kick-Ass...it was darker and not as funny as I thought it would be, but still enjoyable though.

I didn't know it had Daniel Craig in it. Come to think of it, I only just realised that the movie was in English and not in French. Heh.

It was good cyberpunk, but the film noir influence was too smothering, I got pretty sleepy by the third quarter.

Vertigo.

Phantom Knight 05-19-2010 08:35 AM

Zombieland :D

Darth InSidious 05-19-2010 08:39 AM

Part of The Longest Day. I say 'part' because the (da-da-da-daaa) film is absurdly long. After what felt like about two hours, the Allies had only just begun the landings.

(Da-da-da-daaa)

VarsityPuppet 05-19-2010 10:27 AM

The last one I watched: I Love You, Man.
It was an okay movie, but the most important thing is now I understand where a lot of those douchebag taglines come from. I think that's easily summed up by Maddox's You're not Dave Chappelle article.

Last one in theaters? Probably G.I. Joe. That movie was not altogether spectacular, but it did in a way remind me of Star Wars... must've been that strange underwater battle.

Clint Eastwood's Unforgiven, in preparation for Red Dead

Last night I watched The 400 Blows. Really really good film. The story is very good and kept me interested. The acting was good too.

Great movie and one of my all time favorites! :)

Let's see. Well in theatres I saw Iron Man 2 twice.

On DVD I watched:

Alien vs. Predator
The Omega Man
Escape from Planet of the Apes
The Planet of the Apes (2000 edition)
Superman
Superman II

Amazing that I found time to write my results for my pgroup project. LOL.

Yeah, most of the complaints came in the form of "the story isn't as nice as it is to look at." Yeah, Daniel Craig voiced the main character.

Héh just happens I went out to the cinema, had go at the new Robin Hood flick, from Mr. Ridley Scott. Wasn't a bad film, entertaining enough, though it had nothing special.

Nothing "new", not sure if that's possible in films anymore, but I felt it could've have been more. But enjoyable. Didn't feel like I wasted my money and time.

Next to that I bought some DVDs, including the Blade Trilogy. Just for the first one; as it has some nice kick-ass scénes. The other 2 sequels... lets not talk about that

Also picked up Watchmen, which I enjoyed a lot and one oldy: The magnificent seven. A western, which is a rip-off from the Seven Samourai. Still had a fun time to watch it.

mimartin 05-19-2010 04:02 PM

Last two at the cinema were Iron Man 2 and Clash of the Titans Wasn't overly impressed by either.

Last two on Bluray Batman Begins (last night) and Unforgiven. Which was Lynk and Avery's fault. They brainwashed me in Skype talking about Westerns.

Prime 05-19-2010 04:05 PM

PVRed Zack and Miri make a Porno, which was pretty enjoyable.

Watched a bit of Transformers 2 on one of my movie channels. Hope the 3rd is better.

Darth Avlectus 05-19-2010 04:23 PM

Now that I think of it: the Dark knight, road trip, Chappelle (season 3 I think), blue collar comedy tour, white fang, white fang 2, ghost in the shell 2, and part of Ghost in the shell 1.

I watched Eraserhead not to long ago, my first David Lynch film. It was rather disturbing at times especially the end scene but you really have to appreciate how good of a job Lynch did considering his extremely low budget (made in film school).

It's on youtube if you want to watch it.

Mandalore The Shadow 05-25-2010 04:56 PM

I believe the last movie I saw in theatres was Clash Of The Titans

ajlbibak 05-25-2010 05:02 PM

Formula 51 / The 51st State and Jackie Brown. Gotta love Samuel L. Jackson.

Ping 05-25-2010 06:33 PM

Avatar, in theatres. Yeah, I'm not that much of a movie person.

LordOfTheFish 05-25-2010 11:20 PM

Just to clarify things I did not mean only movies you have seen in theatres.

Mandalorian54 05-26-2010 12:35 AM

Blood: the Last Vampire (2009)

I give it 2.5 out of 5 It wasn't bad, but it wasn't very good either. A remake of an anime that was infinitely better (4.5 out of 5 for the origional). Basically the remake is just an action movie, if you're into stuff like Iron Man 2, and Avatar, it should be fairly entertaining.

Jae Onasi 05-26-2010 12:56 AM

We watched Star Wars on Sunday night. The last movie we saw in a theater was a month or so back when we went to see "How to Train Your Dragon". It was a fun show.

LordOfTheFish 05-27-2010 10:51 PM

Watched The Road last night. The book was better...

Arannor 05-27-2010 11:56 PM

My last movie was The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus. This is Heath Ledger's (R.I.P.) final film, he unfortunately died while they were still filming it.

A very good movie IMO, but I am still confused on the ending a little.

Rtas Vadum 05-28-2010 12:12 AM

Last two I watched were Daybreakers and District 9. Daybreakers was pretty much what I expected it to be, and something I'd watch again. District 9, I can't say it was bad, but maybe not something I'd watch again. The possible sequel, well, I'll still give that a chance.

urluckyday 05-28-2010 12:21 AM

Watching Avatar on DVD right now...you know.

I've seen District 9 myself. Completely different from what I was expecting. I agree with you, I probably won't watch it again but I am curious about the second one.

I saw that one a few weeks ago when the DVD arrived(I forgot I ordered it, so it was a bit if a surprise). I can't say much about it, though it is something that I will be watching again. Sure, some of it I wasn't expecting, but nothing to jarring for me.

I did like the few references I spotted (Ash, Anyone? No? Then Whos laughing?), but that thing with the fingernails...egh. That is something I'll need the Brain Bleach for.

It's just a mindless entertaining movie...that's all I like about it.

LordOfTheFish 06-01-2010 11:25 PM

Watched the new Prince of Persia movie with my dad and brother. It wasn't terrible but it was far from good. Over all I thought something was missing but I cant place my finger on it...

Akaan Par'jila 06-05-2010 10:52 PM

Last film I watched was... Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace.

The only reason I watched it was to prove that ET makes an appearence :p

Q 06-06-2010 02:03 AM

^That, and Obi-Wan vs Maul, are the only reasons to watch it.

Trench 06-06-2010 02:15 AM

Watched The Dark Knight on my TV. Instant liek.
