What are you doing for Summer Vacation

What are ya guys doing for Summer Vacation? It could be more than one thing.

I was going to do a poll, but It couldn't fit all the characters I used.....and I couldn't edit it!

Alexrd 06-09-2010 08:39 AM

Study, eat, sleep and travel.

Sabretooth 06-09-2010 08:41 AM

The whole year is my summer vacation. :cool2:

Well actually, we have summer vacations from April-June, so umm yeah.

Jae Onasi 06-09-2010 10:06 AM

The family is going to travel to Arkansas to visit my 83 year old grandma and Point Man's sister and her family in Missouri, visit my alma mater, go to Silver Dollar City near Branson, MO, and generally enjoy the beauty of the Ozarks. Other than that, I'm going to chill out at home when I'm not working and game with my kids and friends, and perhaps get some writing done.

LordOfTheFish 06-09-2010 10:18 AM

Well I live on a beach town so I'll probably go for a swim some. Other than that I might watch some anime, watch some movies, post on here and the gamespot forums, continue my strenuous process of selling my wii on craigslist and other activities.

One of my poll questions was gonna be GAMING 24/7......with Yoda!

So far, I am just gonna stick with my Vacation house down in WIlliamsburg, Va

We were also thinking about going to Tennesse, Hawaii (where I was born), or Eurpe like last year. Europe is out of the picture now though.

True_Avery 06-09-2010 10:35 AM

No such thing as Summer Vacation for me anymore. Enjoy it while you can, kids.

ChAiNz.2da 06-09-2010 10:49 AM

What's a vay-cay-shun? :haw:

If I can fool the boss, I'll take some time and visit the parental units over in NC.. but for the most part, if I actually get time off, I prefer "staycations".

Of course, I'm not much of a crowd person anyways ;)

For some unknown reason my boss always knows when I'm lying. :(

Wouldn't it be funnier if you didn't know when you were lying? ;)

Te Darasuum Mandalor 06-09-2010 01:02 PM

But then, wouldn't he actually no you are lying? The liar is always the one who falls for the lie in the end, which eventually leads to the larger lie which he is found guilty of in the long run, savvy?

jawathehutt 06-09-2010 01:41 PM

Work, play Lotro and mw2, drink, drug and occasionally drive places in wisconsin

swphreak 06-09-2010 01:58 PM

Work and school, mostly. I'm being dragged to a few places for family vacation.

Astor 06-09-2010 02:00 PM

Work, learn to drive, and eventually acquire a motor vehicle (something nice and retro).

I believe I may also be going on a vacation at some point, too.

Ping 06-09-2010 03:56 PM

My family plans to drive down to Orlando (my parents got paranoid after the Christmas Day bombing ::). Other then that, having no life whatsoever, I don't plan to do much.

Miltiades 06-09-2010 05:18 PM

I'm thinking about riding through the country on my bike, if the weather lets me in July. And perhaps go to some local festivals with friends.

Mav 06-09-2010 07:58 PM

Mandalore The Shadow 06-09-2010 08:35 PM

That.

I might be able to take a day off from work in like... October.

Darth Avlectus 06-09-2010 09:10 PM

Ah, summer vacation. Enjoy it while you can, ultra young kiddies, because it won't last forever.

Unfortunately I've already had my vacation this year...in February I went down to San Diego. Was a nice sunny getaway while it was sleeting and snowing up here in northern CA. Kind of awesome yet creepy to see that so many people I knew here and there from school(s) migrated down there. I can surely see why. Beaches, clean city...well mostly..., restaurants, nearby rural areas, just a whole bunch of amusements, and a fairly easygoing atmosphere. Pretty nice for a city down there--Hell, I might even sorta want to live there now, but it's soooo expensive...fat chance. Unfortunately I'm still paying that vaca off (Almost there though!) along with everything else I've got going.

Otherwise I'm just going to be working myself like crazy. I own my own property and several vehicles for my family. So the spoils have to be few:

This upcoming weekend, I'm going to the Ren Faire in Valhalla up at Lake Tahoe.

Want to actually try to get back into school...if I can't, I'll just study for the time being.

I do need to exercise. :devsmoke:

I'll visit this forum. :p

Drive around at night blaring "baby got back".

Barbecues.

Electronic projects. More often it's actually scavenging parts, but occasionally I get some neat stuff I can actually work with and successfully make something from.

Kendo and rapier swordplays. "Guild" as it were. Who knows, maybe my pals will follow me into the custom lightsaber bit--they sure liked the one I made a while back.

Seconded sans the drinking part (I swear it isn't a religious thing!) and Jack.

You weird North Hemispherians and your mid year summers ;)

Have a good one ;)

Ztalker 06-10-2010 01:06 PM

I win.

Going on an Epic Beer Quest all around Belgium with friends
We'll have tours in brewery's, old cloisters where famous beers were created, driving through the Ardennen, doing standard touristic stuff...

But the central theme will still be beer. Belgium has over 360 different brands of beer, and we've made a selection to check. Maredsous, La Chouffe, it's all there....

Beautiful landscape + epic beer + friends + vaction = a very happy Z indeed. Unless it's my day to drive :xp:

Talking about drive, I need to search for a car... It's being difficult...

Ctrl Alt Del 06-10-2010 01:39 PM

Your summer vacation is my winter vacation. And I'll probably have one week off college and that's all. Yay.

Since we started way too late this year.

Best. Vacation. Ever.

You do win. Just be careful. :)

Trench 06-10-2010 04:41 PM

Hang out with friends and family. Do some research on gunsmithing, maybe get a kit or two.
Not many plans other than hanging out with friends and such.

Football, all summer long.

HdVaderII 06-10-2010 06:51 PM

Luckily my family and myself find ourselves lucky enough to get over the pond during the summer. We're spending two weeks in London and Paris, and It'll be my first time visiting both. I'm really excited to be in Europe during World Cup season!

That's just depressing Det. Bart Lasseter.

One of my favorite parts of summer is swimteam, I am MUCH fatster this year and I am the head of the middle lane (mediocre and near-fast swimming lane)

Det. Bart Lasiter 06-10-2010 08:49 PM

yes having a well paying, steady job and hanging out with friends smoking weed over the summer is hella depressing

Det. Bart Lasiter 06-10-2010 08:51 PM

you're on a swim team how can you be so anti-nug after michael phelps :nvr4get:

Jeff 06-10-2010 09:37 PM

Going to E3 next week. :kamina:

JediMaster12 06-11-2010 01:26 AM

Well after I finish my finals next week, I can finally get some sleep. I have been running on four hour sleep days this entire week and I am exhausted. I can sleep in on the weekend but I have to get up and do it again next week because of a paper due next Thurs :xp:

As for the summer, I look forward to mini-cations, mostly day trips to LA via metrolink and of course the big Fourth of July bash at my aunt and uncle's house. I totally kick butt in the volleyball game.

As for the rest of the summer, I will be trying to find employment while at the same time helping with home repair and playing with my nephew and maybe find time for some gaming and writing.
