Spiderman Rebooted!

Source

Apparently Andrew Garfield is now the new Spidey. I don't really have many worries about this except that I hope they make Venom the true badass that he is, this time around, and dump the whole whiny-neighbourhood-geek facade.

Thoughts?

No Kirsten Dunst = no win

Seriously. Bad idea to reboot it. The original three were fantastic, it can only go downhill.

Sabretooth 07-02-2010 10:31 AM

Maybe now I'll actually be interested in watching it.

Maybe.

TKA-001 07-02-2010 12:10 PM

Maybe this time around they'll be able to go one movie without having Spidey have an internal crisis over whether to be a good guy and/or a superhero. Or having the last two fights involving the bad guy kidnapping Mary Jane, suspending her at a high altitude, endangering a bunch of citizens, or said citizens trying to save Spider-man.

Venom got exploded. :indif:

I'll be perfectly alright with it if they bring in villains like Mysterio and Carnage.

I never really watched the scenes with Peter dealing with problems. I skipped to the parts with Spidey beating problems.

I'm looking forward to checking out what this reboot will bring.

Blix 07-02-2010 04:52 PM

Wow a reboot already? Well I just hope that they don't use Green Goblin as the villain for the first two movies.

Ctrl Alt Del 07-02-2010 05:52 PM

Well, if anyone is getting their hopes up expecting to not see Peter dealing with his inner demons, I'm sorry to burst yer bubbles, but it doesn't seem likely. The hero has always been like that both in the comics as well as the cartoons. Plus, if the reboot is going to stage him on his school days, like the first half of the first movie, we can expect a lot more of teenager angst and tribulations.

If it wasn't for the third Spider-Man movie, I'd say this was a terrible idea, seeing how the first two were pretty good.

mimartin 07-02-2010 06:35 PM

If they truely want to reboot him, give him Wonder Woman's old costume.

She isn't using it.

RC-1162 07-02-2010 06:50 PM

^^

But then he'll steal Robert Pattinson's thunder. :xp:

Rogue Nine 07-02-2010 08:20 PM

They better find someone good for Mary Jane. Snaggletooth was okay in the first one but she got drastically worse in the ensuing installments.

Mike Windu 07-02-2010 08:42 PM

I am still for Donald Glover.

And Dunst was sweet.

Endorenna 07-02-2010 10:24 PM

I liked the first movie, didn't care for the second one, and hated the third one. (Speaking of which, take a glance at this if you didn't like the third one either. ;))

I'll pass judgement on the reboot when I see it.

Revan 411 07-03-2010 01:24 AM

I enjoyed the first two films, but I absolutely hated the third one. It had a cheap, and generic plot; along with generic, and lame villains such as Venom.

The reboot could potential revive the film series, but I'll hold judgment until it's released.

jawathehutt 07-04-2010 02:09 AM

It cant be any worse than 3. I still want my money back from that one

mstr kenobi 07-04-2010 03:42 AM

Please,no saturday night fever in my spiderman this time...

A reboot? So soon?

No. This can't be good. :(
