Much as I would like to play this game, and was looking forward to seeing Rome rendered for AC, I won't be buying for any platform while that permanent Internet nonsense remains in place. :carms:

Darth Payne 11-19-2010 09:27 AM

Got the Codex Edition in the mail today.

One of the extras in that edition is the Drachen armor.

ACII players will remember the Helmschmied armor parts from that game, the Drachen armor is a Full armor set made by the same company/armorer.

And it looks most impressive.

Haven't tried the two single player areas that came with the Codex Edition yet.

On another note...

On single player, i haven't been told to connect to the internet, yet.

Haven't tried multiplayer so far though.

So, i don't think there is a 'Permanent internet Nonsense'.

I could be wrong though.

DarthParametric 11-19-2010 10:06 AM

That's the PC DRM which they introduced in AC2. The PC version of Brotherhood isn't coming out until next year anyway, so you'll be waiting a while regardless of whether you want to buy it or not.

Mav 11-19-2010 06:40 PM

I thought Ubi decided to nix that version of their "anit-piracy", meh. I get AC for my PS3 anyway, I picked up this and I'm having a blast.

Can't talk, too busy playing AssBro.

Darth Payne 11-19-2010 09:49 PM

Has anyone else noticed the guides over at GamesRadar yet?

The game has been out around 5 days and already there are three guides up at that site.

Lynk Former 11-19-2010 10:06 PM

That's like that with a lot of games... there's inevitably be someone on the net who plays the first run-through with guide making as a guide... or they've simply gone through whatever official guide has been released and put it into their own words/style to publish on the net.

Kinda cool glitch:

I've done something similar a few times.

Though, instead of jumping up i tend to jump sideways, usually the way i came.

Lynk Former 11-20-2010 09:05 AM

Finished AssBro earlier today... :'( @ end.

Darth Payne 11-20-2010 09:10 AM

Shh, no spoilers, i'm still on my first playthrough. :)

Indeed. It's also nice there's no apparent lag.

Lynk Former 11-20-2010 09:31 AM

@ Darth Payne: Oh sorry, did I say ":'(" ? I meant "lulz"...

I noticed in both AC1 and AC2 that they use some fairly aggressive LOD scaling to keep the framerate up, but most of it is fairly seamless (more so in AC2). You can see a bit of pop-in in that video though.

Rake 11-20-2010 11:52 AM

Any impressions? I've been wanting to get this, but I decided to wait for a price drop. Is it better than AC2? Is it essential to the Assassin's Creed storyline?

Lynk Former 11-20-2010 12:48 PM

I like it just as much as I liked AC2... basically it's pretty much an expansion to AC2 than anything else even though it does have some new elements and some slight gameplay tweaks... kind of what Mario Galaxy 2 is to the first. That's not a bad thing, it's a very good game and there's a ****tonne of stuff to do in it.

And yes... it's essential to the AC story. Don't be fooled, just because it doesn't have 3 at the end doesn't mean this is something you should miss out on because you may think it's a side story... it's not. It is essential. *nods*

Yeah, truth to be told, though, I don't think they ever expected players get this kind of overview. But that kinda goes without saying.

Darth Payne 11-21-2010 09:35 PM

How the heck do i Solve the 'Truth'? I seem to be stuck.

Mav 11-21-2010 10:52 PM

depends where you're at, are you still searching for cluster rifts? are you stuck on a certain puzzle?

Darth Payne 11-21-2010 11:08 PM

Nah, i've solved all of the rifts. :)

It is the blasted 'thing' all those clues turn into that i'm having a problem with. :(

Mav 11-21-2010 11:31 PM

oh, well I just kept running and "dieing" and eventually it worked out... but yeah trippy as ****

Darth Payne 11-22-2010 07:34 AM

Hmph, that 'Truth' is really annoying, the path through keeps frigging changing.

Lynk Former 11-22-2010 07:47 AM

I found that bit pretty easy actually... don't think about where you're going, just push forward and let stuff happen. It doesn't actually take very long.

Darth Payne 11-22-2010 09:04 AM

Ok, finally completed the 'Truth'.

Wth? Son? Eve? DNA?

Was that it?

Lynk Former 11-22-2010 10:15 AM

If you take the information 16 gave you in the-truth.exe in AssBro with the truth video from AssCreed2 as well as the endings of both AssCreed 2 and AssBro, then you'll start to understand more about what he's talking about.

Darth Payne 11-24-2010 07:13 AM

(Hopefully i won't get into trouble for this post)
Turns out that after paying for both versions of AssBro that i have an axtra DL code available.(This is for the 360)

Anybody want it?

It is for an extra mission to a mine, as well as the Drachen armor.

Btw, one of the pictures that was in both versions seem to be of a *very* futuristic armor. The staff the character is holding reminds me of the tech seen in the first and final area of the game.

Is it possible that Desmond will find a set of armor in a future game made by the 'Precursors'?

Lynk Former 11-24-2010 07:29 AM

I'll take it, in exchange, have a moo cow.

Darth Payne 11-24-2010 07:37 AM

PM with code sent. :)

Lynk Former 11-24-2010 07:56 AM

Cheers

leXX 11-25-2010 04:28 AM

Hubby ordered AssBro for me for Xmas, YaY!

Titanius Anglesmith 11-25-2010 04:03 PM

I knew this game would have a total mind**** ending, but I definitely wasn't expecting that.

I can safely say my mind has been thoroughly ****ed.

Darth Payne 11-25-2010 04:15 PM

Yep, that ending was a definite wtf moment.

(Spoiler warning)
spoiler:
I've only played through it once though, is there a way *not* to stab Lucy?

Mav 11-28-2010 10:08 PM

Darth Payne, this forum has [spoiler] [/ spoiler] and [hidden] [/ hidden] tags, I suggest you use them :p

Darth Payne 11-28-2010 10:26 PM

I know, for some reason i couldn't get the blasted things to work. :(

Thanks Lynk for fixing that. :)

Edit: Does anyone know what the Animus DLC is about? I can't find out if it is SP or MP.
