Possible Maniac Mansion reference (?)

I watched "Limitless" today (the movie with Bradley Cooper & Robert De Niro) and there's a dialogue that goes like this (I'll try not to spoil anything):

- Cooper: Come on, that's like... Ed moving out of the Mansion!

Is that a Maniac Mansion reference? Really?
Unless I'm missing something, since I don't live in the US and English is not my first language... :mumble:
