KoTOR on xp, mss32dll problem

Hi i have tried all the online help with kotor crashing at startup but have only got so far. the latest and last problem to cause it to crash is as follows:

The error message :

The procedure entry point _AIL_resume_3D_sample@4 could not be located in the dynamic link library mss32.dll.

This has occurred after replacing the mss32.dll as per online instructions.

I would appreciate any help as I have been trying to get this game working all day and don't want it to defeat me :(

oh and here is my config info:

You don't seem to meet minimum requirements (RAM)...

Also, I don't think one should use a different mss32.dll for KOTOR1. Or XP...

You shouldn't have to replace the mss32.dll if you're using XP.
