Most Anticipated Video Games 2014

(I'm almost afraid to show my "face" here after that mod cancellation...)

2013 is over, guys. As we look forward to what this new year brings, and await more content from our fearless Commander Joe, I feel it is only appropriate I give you my list of most anticipated games of 2014. Why? Simply put, I'm bored.

Part 1 (#20-11): http://youtu.be/jWWFYQIoxlg

Part 2 (#10-1): http://youtu.be/p3owSiCYUTc

Now keep in mind, this is not an objective list. I am simply listing games I am personally looking forward to for one reason or another. However, if you disagree with any entries, I am very interested to know what YOUR list of most anticipated games are. Feel free to leave a comment bellow saying what you most anticipated game(s) of 2014 are, and why. So, let's begin listing!

Rogue15 01-02-2014 09:00 PM

battlefront 3

Sabretooth 01-03-2014 12:32 AM

2014 is shaping up to be an exciting year.
spoiler:
inb4 everything gets delayed

My top 5 would be Dark Souls II, Thief, Massive Chalice, Broken Age and Dragon Age: Inquisition.

Dread Advocate 01-03-2014 02:04 AM

Dragon Age: Inquisition
Titanfall
Thief
Diablo III: Reaper of Souls
Destiny
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
Watch Dogs
Halo 5 or whatever the heck they're gonna call it
The Evil Within

igyman 01-03-2014 04:30 AM

For the moment I guess my "most anticipated" games would be:
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
Metal Gear Rising Revengeance (PC)
GTA V (PC)
Watch Dogs
Thief

I guess in a way I'm looking forward to Dragon Age Inquisition, but I'm staying off the hype train for that one as I've reduced my Bioware games expectations to zero after their last three single-player "RPGs".

P.S. All of the games on my list are, of course, PC versions, I've only explicitly stated it for MG and GTA, since their console versions are already out ;)

Alexrd 01-03-2014 08:35 AM

Hotline Miami 2
Watch Dogs

Summer 2015 is about the earliest possible release window, EA has said. I'm sure Rogue has his inside sources sources, though. ;)

Taak Farst 01-03-2014 01:07 PM

Dragon Age: Inquisition
Thief
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
(Probably doesn't count) The rest of the Walking Dead Season 2 and The Wolf Among Us

Miltiades 01-03-2014 03:18 PM

Destiny
The Witcher 3
Dreamfall Chapters
Watch Dogs
Transistor

Would be my top 5, in no particular order.

Lynk Former 01-03-2014 03:31 PM

Bayonetta 2

Can't wait for the season continuations and conclusions of "The Wolf Among Us" and "The Walking Dead." Some of the finest storytelling in any medium.

I'm waiting until the whole season is released to start playing those.

Lynk Former 01-04-2014 11:00 AM

Same, I can't imagine actually waiting for each episode to come out, I just don't have that much patience lol.

It's horrible.

Truly.

urluckyday 01-05-2014 02:21 AM

lol I'm not patient enough to wait for the entire series to be completed!

Lynk Former 01-05-2014 05:51 AM

You don't have to be patient... you just have to have a lot of other games to play to take your mind off of it... right now I have close to 100 games I need to finish... so yeah.

mimartin 01-05-2014 10:30 AM

Dragon Age: Inquisition is the only game that even interest me at the moment.

Lynk Former 01-05-2014 03:54 PM

Rogue15 01-05-2014 04:32 PM

i counted my 360 games the other day, don't know how i acquired over 50?? lol gotta love gamestop's buy 2 get 1 deals sometimes...

Witcher 3: High production values, interesting world, good reactivity, neat gameplay, all they need is some better writing and, eh, more practical outfits and it could be the best game of the decade.

Dragon Age Inquisition: DA2 was a fantastic idea terribly executed, but since this game has been making the right noises so far, I'm interested.

Dead State: Brian Mitsoda wrote much of Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines, which is enough for me. Seeing a zombie RPG with a focus on dealing with the humans in your shelter instead of shooting zombies in the head should be fun.

Age of Decadence: Interesting setting, little magic, many factions and a story which will be seen from different perspectives depending on your choices/class sounds fine. Also, I guess the no fuss "pick your own adventure" style is an honest way of showing how most RPGs work.

The Banner Saga: The previews say meh, the beautiful art, cut scenes (never thought I'd list cut scenes as a plus), setting, and some neat gameplay mechanics makes me exited. Though why they had to name a female character Oddleif is beyond me.

mr_dad 01-05-2014 08:17 PM

These are all great ones guys! While it didn't make my list, I am really interested in Broken Age. I can remember a time when point and click adventure games were very popular, and it's cool to see them coming back into popularity. Any else agree?

I've been following that game ever since the beginning, but when they revealed the turn-based combat, I was so disappointed that I stopped caring.

Miltiades 01-06-2014 11:48 AM

Rockpapershotgun is doing a preview of 2014, for PC of course. It's not necessarily a list of most anticipated, but you might want to check it out, in case you're afraid you're going to forget one in the ocean of amazing games 2014 is obviously going to bring. Part 1 and Part 2 are online and there's still a Part 3 coming up. I'm just glad we all have so much free time to dedicate to all those games, amirite!

Red Hessian 01-06-2014 12:33 PM

Wasn't Star Citizen delayed until 2015?

Like what I like, if Obsidian Entertainment were coming out with something I would be happy too. Well as long as it wasn't Alpha Protocol 2.

Wait...now that I looked excite about Pillars of Eternity too since I already paid for it. It says 4thQ 2014, my bet is 2015.

The actual release, yes. I think backers get parts of the game earlier (gradually as they are released). Which is, of course, only a Beta.

leXX 01-08-2014 07:23 AM

Elder Scrolls Online. It will probably be the only game I will play for a few years, but it will depend on my impressions this beta weekend.

The Doctor 01-08-2014 04:28 PM

Skywind.

mr_dad 01-08-2014 07:29 PM

In case anyone is interested, here's the other half of my list (numbers 10-1).

HED 01-11-2014 04:35 AM

The only ones I can really think of are Inquisition and Smash Bros. I'm sure there will be others I come across in the course of the year, though.
