Can't say I'm surprised this happened, but I'm not happy about it anyways.

It's better than not having Star Wars comics at all.

I suppose, but those are hardly the only two options they had.

Why would they pay Dark Horse to publish comics when they have their own publishing house at Marvel?

Of course it's sad to see this partnership disappear, but it was only a matter of time ever since Disney's acquisition.

For the same reason that Disney is outsourcing Star Wars games to EA instead having Disney Interactive Studios do all of them. Unlikely as that would have been, I know.

Of course, I agree, this was inevitable.

Not comparable. Disney Interactive Studios is a publisher, not a developer house.

This is quite a bummer. I was never able to get into the original Marvel series even when I could track them down. I was a young child back then, but still, they always felt silly to me.

They essentially are. Disney Interactive Studios currently owns three developers, and at the time of Star Wars' acquisition owned four. Sure, EA owns more, but its essentially the same scenario.

Not to mention that a publisher is all Marvel is as well.
