Episode 1 Racer

Hey, i'm new here. I was wondering if anybody here was a podracer junky like myself, and if so, what are your times?

Redwing 07-13-2001 07:06 PM

Meeee! But my times were erased for some odd reason :( and since the demise of the Racer forum here I stopped paying attention to times

jazzman741 07-13-2001 08:05 PM

;)

Boba Rhett 07-13-2001 11:12 PM

LOL. I bet it was suposed to be 84 and that would mean he's 4 days older than me, BLAST!!

jazzman741 07-14-2001 12:35 PM

Who are you guys talking about? Can't be me because I'm just 16.... So anyways, I was wondering how my times compared with anyone elses.

Hannibal 07-14-2001 07:50 PM

Time: 4:58

jazzman741 07-15-2001 07:10 PM

ummm...what race is that for? and how come my pic isn't showing up?

Hannibal 07-15-2001 11:41 PM

Race: American Indian

Redwing 07-16-2001 04:03 AM

Hannibal's just being a weirdo smart-alec  PS here's a page showing some people's times...warning they're the best of the best so don't get depressed :D http://www.roguetwo.iwarp.com/times.htm

jazzman741 07-16-2001 12:07 PM

Thanks man. I think with a little more practice I can beat some of those...or maybe come close. Some of those times are amazing though...13-14 seconds for laps on Mon Gazza? All I can say is wow.

jazzman741 07-16-2001 12:37 PM

Okay after checking out all the times...it seems the guy cheats, but however you can win, right? I mean, when you can do one lap on the abyss in 6.562 secs, something is up

JediKnight_114[b] 07-16-2001 05:13 PM

No, trust me, nothing is up.

My times for abyss:
3 Lap: 1:57.66
1 Lap: 35.35

Thats the best I could manage with the pointer listed Here: http://roguetwo.iwarp.com/shortcuts.htm

Also listed is the way to get the 6 second lap. I couldn't pull it off, but I can see how it can be done. So, don't start saying cheater just because you can't do it. Try the tips here: http://roguetwo.iwarp.com/shortcuts.htm

and You might be able to get better times.

jazzman741 07-17-2001 12:06 AM

Ummm...and you don't consider jumping the side wall and falling onto parts of the track closer to the end cheating? But I never said I had a problem with cheating....

JediKnight_114[b] 07-17-2001 01:00 AM

Of course it's not cheating. Cheating is like using codes or things like that to make it easier. If there was a code for racer where you could jump to different coordinates instantly to get a shorter time, that would be cheating. But, this takes far more skill and controll and better reflexes than the regular way. And, since we are using something that was designed in the levels as part of the level, it is not cheating. Saying this is cheating is saying it is cheating to develope your own style while gaming.
