It's not a question of when you get your master, you have a master. You get to find out who he is when the story starts. I'll post some info on the Jedi Masters before the story starts, when I write them up. I haven't done that yet though. Also, they may be your master and not a Jedi Master, Jedi Knights often take on padwans.
