As always, make sure your laptop's bios, display drivers, and sound drivers are up to date.

If you have already done these things, or if you continue having problems after doing them, post your laptop specs.

Some laptop manufacturers, like Dell, have drivers for their mobile display adapters that are commonly incompatable with various games for one reason or another. If you post your laptop specs including the make and model of both the laptop and it's display adapter, I can try to see if this is the cause of the problem.
