Well, I've noticed that there is a HUGE difference in the tactics between 1 vrs 1 and 2+ vrs 2+ games. I think the games with more than two players are the ones that really make this game come to life. The best tactic I've found is to team up with someone who knows your way of playing and vice versa. The actual tactics and units used don't matter so much, as long as you both have the same plan. If you haven't tried a 3v3 or 4v4, then I'd say you haven't tried one of the best features of this game. The system of shared base/resources makes multiplayer a true team effort, more so than some of the other rts multiplayer games.
