Thanks. I think the fear was that a loved one would be kidnapped or killed, the Jedi would get mad, turn to the darkside, and voila, a bad Jedi. Or they're in the middle of some dangerous mission and get a call that their child is badly injured in an accident, and the Jedi gets distracted from the mission. However, those are situations the Jedi could have taught their Padawans to handle or make arrangements to work around the problems.
