Technically Ageism is also correct as the two base words 'age' (which applies an age range) and 'ism' which refers to a distinctive system of beliefs, myth, doctrine or theory that guides a social movement, institution, class or group in relation to the prior word such as race, age, sex etc.

-ism \-ism\ [F. -isme, or L. -ismus, Gr. ?.]
A suffix indicating an act, a process, the result of an act
or a process, a state; also, a characteristic (as a theory,
doctrine, idiom, etc.); as, baptism, galvanism, organism,
hypnotism, socialism, sensualism, Anglicism.
