That's true for the original, not Best of the PC. Believe me I know I have both and have used both on Vista. Best of PC usually works flawlessly. When best of the PC was released it took Windows Vista into account when collecting the games and made the necessary changes. That's why when I check the hardware configuration everything is a go.
Nevermind, I figured it out. It was actually something very very strange. For some reason with the grass and shadows turned off the game crashes, with them turned on the game runs fine. Curious.
