This is where non-Christians like me get confused. How can they say they are baptist and not be a baptist? Are their any rules/laws that prohibit them using a particular title if it does not represent the majority outlook.

So no, there is no law prohibiting them from calling themselves Baptist and if there were it would be unconstitutional. Thus the inherent danger with laws that protect individual right and freedoms, those same laws protect idiots and people that disagree with your views. Still I would rather it be this way.
