I believe it's smudged because of how the game maps the texture to the model. Take a look at the original Revan mask underneath and see if the proportions of it are different. I'd think it would be a little wider at the bottom than your texture, and you just need to adjust yours to match.

It's also probably because of the size of the texture. If memory serves, the Revan texture is only 512x512, so some pixellation on more modern systems is perhaps not a great surprise.
