If you'd ever played JK online, you'd understand the necessity for pure servers. I remember fighting people who would swim through the air firing concussion rifles at repeater rates who you couldn't kill.
If the servers weren't pure, there would be innumberable quantities of hackers ruining games, and people who whine about backstabbers would probably EXPLODE at the sight of them.
