Vader's wife was very pregnant when she died 19 years ago. All of a sudden a 19 year old who is very strong in the force and has a distinct resembalance to him in his younger days rolls in from Vader's home planet with his old Master Obi-Wan (Who was the ONLY other person preset at the time his wife died. And to boot, the kid's last name is Skywalker.

So in answer to your question, he knew Luke was his son because his name is Darth Vader, and not Darth Retard.

First off I'd just like to say that Master and commander was a grade A film.

But I don't usually watch the Oscars (hell I don't even know what channel they're on ), except I listen to who won on the news, or radio on my way to school/work

Johnny Depp. He is LONG over due for the oscar, and is quite frankly the only one on that list that deserves anything. He was the best part of Pirates Of The Carribean,

Indeed. He has been denied an oscar for too long. If he doesn't get it, I say we attack at dawn.

well, i failed to catch master and commander, but apparently it was both great and totally falsely marketed with the trailers that made it look like an action film (gladiator at sea) when it was actually a slow paced character driven drama. trailers lie...

My choices:

Best Motion Picture
Lost in Translation - Totally overhyped, only saved by bill murray
Master and Commander - wish i had seen it, meant to
Mystic River - wish i had seen it, meant to
Seabiscuit - GOD NO! hollywood schmaltz
Winner: The Return of the King, The - 2nd best film of the year, but deserves if for the trilogy as a whole.

Best Actor
Johnny Depp - Nearly, very good
Ben Kingsley - not seen
Jude Law - seeing at weekend
Sean Penn - wish i had seen it, meant to
Winner: Bill Murray - Yep, nearly saves the film

Best Actress:
- Haven't seen a single one of these films, and i bet 95% of the rest of the world hasn't either, shows how few good roles there were for women in mainstream films.

Supporting Actor:
Alec Baldwin for Cooler, The - not seen
Benicio Del Toro for 21 Grams - not seen
Djimon Hounsou for In America - not seen
Tim Robbins for Mystic River - wish i had seen it, meant to
Winner: Ken Watanabe for Last Samurai Yep, nearly saves the film

Supporting Actress:
Shohreh Aghdashloo for House of Sand and Fog - not seen
Patricia Clarkson for Pieces of April - not seen
Marcia Gay Harden for Mystic River - wish i had seen it, meant to
Holly Hunter for Thirteen - not seen
Renée Zellweger for Cold Mountain - seeing at weekend
Winner: Miranda Otto for LOTR - why is she not nominated????

Director
Sofia Coppola for Lost in Translation - overhyped
Clint Eastwood for Mystic River - wish i had seen it, meant to (but clint rules!)
Fernando Meirelles for Cidade de Deus - not seen
Peter Weir for Master and Commander - wish i had seen it, meant to
Winner: Peter Jackson for The Return of the King - damn right!! no one else had better win this

Screenplay:
Winner: Finding nemo

I assume Kill Bill is being considered next year, after part 2 comes out?? I'd say it was a better film than ROTK, but rotk still deserves it as an award for the trilogy as a whole.
Uma Thurman would then get best lead actress, and Sonny Chiba should get a best supporting actor nomination for his role in Kill bill as well.

also, LOTR should probably get best original score, and Kill Bill best soundtrack.

Playing: Link to the Past, Astroboy, Kario Kart, Mario World (Micro) KOTOR 2: Sith Lords (Xbox) Morrowind (PC)
