Uh...Maybe you'd get a better response if you post this on the Starfighter Forum.

That would be pointless. If they are on that, they probably are looking forward to it. I want to bring up issues from people we know on this forum!

Not necessarily. There's been a fair share of complaints about Demolition on that board, so I expect there's at least one person who will start a big stink about how it's only coming out for PS2, and how it should be released for PC.

Hi Dave long time no see.
It is noit likly it will come out for the PC as the PS2 is far superior in hardware context. Starfighter looks good but if its just a copy of Rouge Squadron (Which was Not bad but Not great.) i dont think it will sell well as most os the games realesed uneder the TPM licencese were pretty crud and couldnt hold a candle to likes of X-Wing and even Super Return of the Jedi on the game boy. Plus the fact that most of the concentration will be around Epiosode 2 rather then TMP which will be pushed to one side when every one goes to the movies just to see the new trialers that are being reallesed.

P.S. Hey Seasee Tom where can I sign your petion for new smilies i love those little guys!

Fraser! I had no idea it was you. Yeah, I haven't seen you for a while. How you been?
Rogue Squadron 2 is being released for Gamecube, so I expect Starfighter will be a bit different. You play as 3 characters, changing during the game (like TPM, you know, Obi-Wan for 5 levels, Qui-Gon for 3, etc.). It actually sounds like quite a good game. And the graphics are amazing. Although, as Master Qui-Gon has said, the PC is looking better. But that could change in a few months or so; most of the first games for a new console are not very good.

But as the PC uses memory instead of reading off of the actuall CD it tends to slow down and goes wrong a lot more.Dont take me wrong I do like the PC as it has some killer games such as Half Life etc.
But this game seems to be for console only as the format will be DVD (Which PS2 can play both CD and DVD) who not may people have fitted into thier computers. The main problem I see whith this is that you will need to have a top notch PC for which to run it like you did in TMP whih when i played the Ottoah Gunga level was hell. Even though my computer was registered as above required i still couldnt see through water or the Bubble's even though Tranperisie was on. This game looks good but it is questionable whever a PC appearence is on the cards.
P.S.
Dave Maul do you need any help on your Radio program as I really would like to get back into radio. Send me your awnser VIA Email. (Ask Tom for my Address as I dont want to put it on the Web!)
Thanks.

I tell you what: I'd like someone to do some voices for the 'Prank Call' section. It's kinda suspicious when It's just Tom and I. Get it touch woth him and he can sort out a recording session.

Thanks Dave I will.
As for you Mr Qui Gon. For one I am not a cheap skate who dosent have one I dont have one as i can not afford it at the moment as the only reason I would buy a DVD is to watch movies and I would rather watch it on a TV rather than a computer screen so untill some descent games come out for DVD I will not soil my computer with its technology!

Master Qui-Gon is right; I can't seem to find a computer that doesn't have a DVD drive. But I agree with YLH, I'd rather watch a DVD on TV than sit at my computer for hours on end; I do enough of that already.

I have a DVD.
2 of them.
Oh, sorry. The average DVD player (not ROM) is about £130-£140. ROMs are a little cheaper, because you have to buy the software to run them, (and films are slow).

I am not getting a PS2. Yeah, you heard me right. PC is far superior. The original PS has absolutely no games I really want to play, which isn't already avaliable on other platforms. Therefore I see no reason in getting a PS2, as I don't see myself buying any of the games coming out for it. Well, Starfighter looks good, but I am not about to buy a 300 bucks PS2 for one game.
Sony are shipping 1 million PS2 into USA on October 26th. No more. Then you will have to wait for spring 2001 for the next shipment. If you haven't preordered, you won't get a PS2. Yet...
And the PS2 is WAAAAYYYY overhyped. I don't see why it revoutionize gaming. Would someone please explain why it will to me?

What's one of them?
Back to the PS2 topic, I like the look of it. I was tempted to buy a PSX in the first place, and I like some of the games that are released on that particular label, and card upgrades cost a lot. I want something that is less likely to crash (and burn, in some cases). Yes, the DVD is good for the PC, but you need REALLY good software to make movies run smoothly.

Sometimes I get the feeling that people are buying the PS2 just to get a fancy DVD player...
It is the games I am worried about. Sure, the graphics are great, but PS had no good games actually, and I see no reason for why PS2 should have.

I can think of a few great games on PSX: Metal Gear Solid, Final Fantasy 7 and 8, Colony Wars: Red Sun (a personal favourite), and a whole bunch of little games that I can't be bothered to list. Seriously, when the PlayStation first came out, the first games were pretty crappy: Poor sound, slow performance, crappy graphics (JPB is stuck in a time warp in the year 1995, which explains a few things . But recently companies have been able to create graphics unlike any seen before. When games like Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty and SW: Starfighter are among the first to be released for PS2, I think the console will have a long and promising life.
My two cents

Sorry to say this Dave, but Metal Gear Solid 2 is a year+ away. Hardly a first release...
And the few games I likes on PS was already released on the PC, like FF7 and 8, and Metal Gear Solid is coming to the PC this Cristmas!

Until I see some good PS2 games, I will probably knock the time away with JPB and CW: Red Sun (providing they are one of the 99% of PSX games that will work on the new console). Starfighter and Munch's Oddysee are a definate must-get.

I think I'll skip PS2 and rather buy a Gamecube, or perhaps a X-Box if it has enough good games!

X-Box? X-Box!? Oh, god, please tell me you're kidding. "Warning: This console has made an illegal operation." I'd stick with Gamecube (this is, if I haden't already pre-ordered my PS2)

Microsoft's X-Box sounds pretty bad. Perhaps I would consider it if they made Windows a little more reliable...

You do know that the Gmae box cube whatever is going to be prple and extremly bulky. Nintendo have mucked this one up first it was dolphin and al the advertisment was 'Capture a dolphin.' (You canimagine who thrilled green peace were.) then it was the Star Cube and more ads came ut and know irs a purple box which finally runs CD's which i was doing almost five odd years now. Nintendo have fluffed up big timeIMO sony will once again dominate the market.
P.S.
Has any one seen those PS1's they are so samll the dimensions I think are 18cm long 3cm deep and 9cm wide! You could lose that in your pocket. did any one else know that the X-Box has a lava lamp in it! What will there mascot be? Sony has Crash and Lara Sega has sonic and Nintedo has Mario. Will Micro softs mascot be the paper clip office help or the Linux pengiun?

That "new" PS One is a pretty ****ty idea from Sony. Who wants a 5-year old console now? It is supposed to be carried around, but it doesn't run on batteries... What da hell is the point.
The X-Box might not be as good as it sounds, true, but it does have awesome capabilities. It is already much better that the PS2, and I think Micro**** said it's only running on 10% on what is promised. Still, Micro**** has done some errors in the past...
I'll probably go with Gamecube! Anyone seen those Rogue Squadron 2 movies? Awesome! And those new Zelda screens were pretty fly too!

The game Cube is Nintendo's next gen console which is trying to rival the PS2. But the PS1 was introduced to try and combat the need for play stations as acording to market sales there is still a great demand for them but a limited stock so IMO they will sell as there are stil new people wiating to goin the console world and dont want to fork out 300 quid and then wait two moths for it. Thye would like a consoel about sixty quid(PS1) and somehting that looks good beter then the old grey station(PS! and dont get me wrong i have a origenal but its shape and design sucks!) and a concole that has a large backlist of games (PS1) and somehting that they can use for other perposes (Battrey packs can be bought and it can be turned into a mini personal CD player.

No, it won't!
I hope PS2 crash and burn, so that Sony can get their grips back together and get it into their feeble minds that PS2 is not a revolution!
Go GameCube! Even though the design is crap...

The Best
1. PS2
2. Dreamcast
3. Gamecube (What's a Dolphin?)
4. PSX
5. PS1 (New smaller design, white and acts as a portable CD player)
6. Umm... N64?
My verdict.
