Survey thing.

Ok, we need your feedback. Hopefully if you're a regular visitor of the site, you know what we have, and if you're not, you know what you want.

These are a bunch of questions which we're asking you to fill in so we can get some ideas for what you want to see on the site. We know we're missing a lot, and i have a long long todo list , but the more ideas the better.

#1 - How often do you visit the site? (eg. twice a week)

#2 - What do you mainly visit the site for?

#3 - What's missing?

#4 - What would you like to see more of?

#5 - What would you like to see less of?

#6 - Any other comments?

Reply to this post with your answers, or if you don't want them to be public mail them to tom@courthold.co.uk

Thanks for your input.

Re: Survey thing.

#1 - How often do you visit the site? (eg. twice a week)
Probably weekly, on average. When there are a lot of updates I visit more often.

#2 - What do you mainly visit the site for?
Sadly, I've only been using it to visit the hosted sites in recent days. However, the articles are great (like Tiller Techniques woot) and I read those whenever you post them.

#3 - What's missing?
I think that there should be some more media on the page, like screenshots from upcoming games or something. You guys have a database of amateur games and engines in development, but it's kind of tucked away. Also, AD: Directory is somewhat of a confusing name. Maybe you should bring the links to the Games and Engines sections to the main menu, and give the database its own menu category.

#4 - What would you like to see more of?
I like screenshots, videos, interviews, and articles by the developers.

#5 - What would you like to see less of?
Not sure, I just want more of everything right now. Maybe less Arbuckle, but that's just me.

#6 - Any other comments?
Don't give up! I know you guys can pull off something great if you keep at it.

1 - I don't visit the site as often as I used to, mainly due to more exciting things happening in the worlds that don't have any relation to adventure-developing.

2 - I visit to see if there are any new amateur-games that have been released / announced.

3 - Reviews and Previews. I know that the latest review hasn't been updated for a while (although the latest preview was great). The site should aim to entice gameplayers rather than gamecreators (because there are more gameplayers out there), and the lack of reviews especially neglects them, I guess.

4 - More reviews, there should be more of those little pictures at the top and they should stand out a little better. Also, a comprehensive database detailing every single amateur adventure game and engine would be nice too.

5 - Less non-doing stuff.

6 - Maybe a little more colour? I don't know. The site still needs a lot of effort to be kicked off properly.

survey

#1 - How often do you visit the site? (eg. twice a week)
every other day.

#2 - What do you mainly visit the site for?
I like to know whats up with fellow adventure gamers and amateur developers.

#3 - What's missing?
Ild love to see more links to free/affordable game development tools (graphics and audio). And maybe more free stuff (graphics and audio). You cant go wrong with that. Possibly contributions from members?

#4 - What would you like to see more of?
Kepp goin with what youve got. Youre doin fine.
Okay one thing, how about srveying all time favorite adventure games by category (ie. Story, Graphics, music etc)

#5 - What would you like to see less of?
Cant say. Got no complaints so far.

#6 - Any other comments?
More discussion. Then again this is something that can be solved with posts or even better mirc.

Re: Survey thing.

#1 - How often do you visit the site? (eg. twice a week)
Now days, I visit the site like once a day.

#2 - What do you mainly visit the site for?
News regarding games, mostly the non-AGS ones (since I check the AGS forums constantly and am well informed of what's going on), but also I read the articles about adventure developing.

#3 - What's missing?
The site is going well with the adventure developing articles, but it needs more reviews and listings of underground graphic adventures.

How about some interviews with adventure developers? it would be great to talk to Ron Gilbert about adventure game design in general or with Tim Schafer.

AD hasn't brought the communities together: text adventures, agast people, sludge people, ags people, and the others engines people. Then again, I don't check the AD forums so I wouldn't know what's going on here, but more stuff needs to be projected on the main site itself.

#4 - What would you like to see more of?
Reviews! and Game listings.

#5 - What would you like to see less of?
uhmm.... beats me. I guess you guys are relying on news updates way too much instead of bringing more of other stuff.

#6 - Any other comments?

#1 - How often do you visit the site? (eg. twice a week)

Erm, not that often I'm afraid. Not too hot on adventure developing to me honest.

#2 - What do you mainly visit the site for?

Features and news, but, um, see above.

#3 - What's missing?

Downloads! And if you already have that: then more! I want more!

#4 - What would you like to see more of?

Possibly some more info about the different games, and reviews. Ooh, and maybe some sort of FAQ?

#5 - What would you like to see less of?

Difficult to answer questions like this.

#6 - Any other comments?

I should probably have visited the site before filling this out.

Shame on you, Tom!

If you'd like, you could send it to me too. Doubles the odds that it's gonna be published

Of course

Currently I'm in my exam week, but I think I'll have some time to spare this weekend, though. Let me know if you can make it.
