Unhappy I see the light...and its too bright!

My mp level that I am currently editing keeps on mysteriosly flooding with light! When I compile the map it can not find any leaks....also, even when I delete EVERY SINGLE LIGHT in my level, the problem continues. Anyone know what to do? I haven't found anything that has adressed this problem.:burn1:

Thumbs up

This sounds like FullBright, which usually appears when there is a leak in your map. You say you have none, but check junk.txt and the pointfile just to be sure. It might be possible that your light phase is not completing properly.

I've used brush cleanup in bobToolz to fix that problem a couple of times.

Your junk.txt is located in a Hidden Folder.

You can just enter this path in your address bar to open junk.txt:

C:\Documents and Settings\Your User Name\Local Settings\Temp\junk.txt

Just put in your Windows Username for "Your User Name" in the path above.

Get GtkRadiant if you don't already have it. I'm not sure if the development versions have the plugins so get an official version.
http://qeradiant.com/
In the plugins, look for bobToolz and select Brush Cleanup. Q3map2 is a better compiler than the one that comes with JK2Radiant. Choose this option for bsp Q3Map2 final BSP-meta,-vis,-light-fast-filter-super2.

Another problem might be that your map is too large. I had to size my skybox down in order to get the light entities to work properly...

You're just a few runes short of an incantation...

Are you perhaps compiling with BSP Full Vis - Nolight? If so that will happen....

Maybe check to see if you have an ambient light turned on in your worldspawn? I turn on ambience while I'm mapping before I put in the lights - and if one forgets to turn it off it looks horrible...
