Serious topic: Local Radio Celeb. Murdered
Roger 'Uncle Roge' Maccall, local well known late night radio talk show host for Rochester's classic rock station WCMF, had been murdered last night.
I doubt that I have ever put on much of a serious persona, on this web forum. But I truely believe that maybe sometime I might want to vent things. Not becuase I listened to his show, but mainly becuase I knew him outside of his show, personally.
He's came to my home, our parties, and what not.
Hell I can remember when I was yonger when I didn't even knew that he was even doing his show, of course due to my age. I didn't know him as "Uncle Roge", but as uncle Roge.
Such a very sad way for him to die, even when he was about to visit his son too. Even worse for his son to have found him like that.

Radio silence
My condolences on your loss, Scar. A personal one, and murder at that! Gah.
When I was a kid growing up in Denver, I was a regular listener to AM radio host Alan Berg, who was gunned down by nazis in his own garage. In his case, though, I wasn't surprised--he went out of his way to bait those kind of people on his radio show...

right now I don't feel as bad as I did last night, but I'm sure I but alot in my greifing in that post last night. I figure I've just somehow got myself to 'deal' with pain of loss.
I mean, I feel bad that he's gone. And how he's gone too. Especally for the mere fact that he even carries a firearm, and he didn't even get to pull it out, is even worse. Which alot of people are glad that the person who shot him didn't get a chance to take his firearm before people came.
anyway, I feel bad that he's gone. But still it's been a while since I've seen him. So, sadly thats most likey why I'm coping a bit easier.
thanks

Why, honestly WHY would someone bother to murder a radio host? I mean, I could see horrible tv stars etc, but why a radio host? Unless of course it were something els,e like he was a drug dealer on the side but its weird. Was it like, random or what?
I would be sad if one of my WCYY DJs was murdered. They're like... Friends...

Well one thing that a) most people have not seen him in person so unless he talked to ya, and you listen to the show 12am to 8am, you wouldn't know. and b) we're still nto sure whats the motive about it. but we think it mgiht ahve to do something with those apartments there. but for the mere sake of it all, i won't go in to much personal details, other then whats said

I heard it was that the guy owed him rent, and when Unkle Rog came to collect it, the guy shot him.
At least that's how I understood it from the news report. My we've got some f*cked up people in the world.
Alright, alright. Let's just calm down and settle this over a nice cyanide pill eating contest, you go first.

actually he was not collecting rent for someone whom he knew (which i know very very well, may I add). But he was visiting his son.
I went to the wake today. It wasn't as crowded as I thought it would be. But the 'sign in' book was almost full, and there were two books going.
next, what pisses me off, "Bother Wease" (the AM talk show host for WCMF. and to those who also live outside listening area, it's sorta a family dela with the station) desided to take upon his right to change the funeral arrangements from a private to a public funeral.
May I also point out that Unkle Rog and Brother Wease DO NOT like each other. I think Brother Wease is disrespecting Unkle Rog with that action.
