CD/MP3 Player?

My mom has been shopping for an MP3 player for me, because she is tired of me making a new cd about every other day. She saw one at Target for $50 that was a CD/MP3 player. I wanna know something, since she gave me vague details, what is this?

A)How much storage room does it have?

B)Are they good?

C)How is the battery life on them?

D)What is the best one for a under $55 price range?

Thanks a buch to anyone that replies and helps me. As most of you know, my life revolves around music, and the cds I consume are deadly.

I have a CD/MP3 player, and I've had it for 2 year, never given me trouble, heh, you can actually upgrade its software. Here's a pic,

Go here for info on some models of it. GO HERE!

I don't know much about players, so...

i'm assuming that the cd/mp3 player is the one that plays a cd or a mp3 cd.
a) as much data as a blank cd can hold
b) i like mine and mine is pretty bargin bin

http://reviews.cnet.com/Sonicblue_Ri...?tag=pdtl-list

if you can get a better one though, because buttons get stuck sometimes

c) battery life sucks for mp3 cd's on mine. a fully charged battery a little more than 3 days of use (about 4-6 hrs).

d)
here's cnet's result for best under 50 dollars.

http://reviews.cnet.com/4502-6496_7-...605&1000036id=

i suggest looking for a good mp3 player instead because of the battery life and size. if not for those
two reasons, i'd prefer cd/mp3 players.

I have one too... It can hold about 120 songs...
I use rechargeable batteries, so i wont have to worry about that
If you get rechargeable batteries i really recommend a discman that can play mp3-cds

[EDIT] this is mine: Panasonic SL-MP35

well, I just got a Apple iPod yesterday for a late Christmas present and I gotta say, this thing is too good to be true. But it's apperently way out of your price range.

I wouldn't get a CD/MP3 player, go for a straight MP3 player. If your mom is worrying about you wasting CDs, tell her she's not helping by getting you another CD player. Save up your money or something, or you could always look for a cheap mini-disk player. My old one cost about $140 though, so that's probley out of the question.

Get a job or something i guess

120 SONGS!

My mom saw one at wal mart for 30 bucks with 120 sec anti skip.
She said that she'ld buy me rechargable battery kit so I don't have to worry about that
120 120 120 MAKES ME HAPPY!
Does an "MP3 Disc" use a regular CD-R?
The one she saw plays CD-RWs so I can make a cd, erase it, make a new one.

MMMPIe, you have made my day. When I read Z's post I thought it meant a regular CD, but 120 songs, I am very very very very Very Very Very Very VEry VEry VEry VEry VERy VERy VERy VERy VERY VERY VERY VERY

mp3 disc is just a regular data disc that has mp3 files on it, so cd-rw is fine. also watch out for your rechargable batteries. i had a set of 4 that i got for my cd/mp3 player, i used my cd/mp3 player every day for my first year in college when i walked to classes. after the year was over, i couldn't play mp3 cds longer than an hour or 2 straight without depleting them, so now i mainly use my cd/mp3 as a cd player because batteries last longer with just cds.

Of course, the number of songs depends on how long they are... And judging by you beeing a Linkin Park fan, 120 shouldnt be a problem...
Me on the other hand, beeing a Metallica fan, will get room for slightly less songs

You should edit your posts and delete them

I think 120 was what i had as an average on my cds... But, as i said it depends on the songs

I have the same one as Z, but I havn't gotten a real chance to use it yet. I've always been a fan of Panasonic though, my last CD player I had for years. So I have high hopes for this new MP3/CD player. I have used it a bit though, and so far it's been real nice.
