9700 pro or 9800 pro

is it worth getting the 9800 pro or is the 9700 pro fine? I heard that there is only litttle difference between the two. i can save $70 by getting the 9700 pro. also what are the best drivers for ati? When i get the 9700 pro it will not come with any installation cds because its OEM. But the i can still install it with the drivers right?

I have a 9800 Pro and I can't recommend it highly enough Top card, and I hear from many reliable sources it's well worth getting over the 9700 Pro. Alternatively you could just get a 9800 regular, and soft mod it to a Pro

But, the best thing to do is read a load of reviews, and see what the "vibe" is on hardware sites before you make a purchase.

I'm with him. My games run smoothly, and I haven't had any problems with 9800 Pro.

In case you haven'y seen the benchmarks, the 9800 pro is only 10-15 more FPS than the 9700 Pro.

:/

I have the AIW 9700 Pro, with the Catalyst 3.10 drivers, and it plays anthing very well.

Depends which benchies you read, and what games you're playing When the next gen games start to come out, you'll be wanting a 9800 Pro over a 9700 Pro, for sure...

Get the 9700 pro, best card right now. Great for making Jedi Academy films

I only spend 400 for the card, but it was well worth it.

Damn you all. I remember telling everyone I had a 9700 pro. Everyone was envious, but once 9800 pro came out...I was....an outcast.
