Considering an RTS central for the LFN network

A new designed website is very close to being finished now and then it struck me.

So far there's only a handful of Star Wars related RTS games and I thought it might be an idea to create one website for them. Also, the new site would be ready for the next RTS and it might bring in new people.

Any ideas?

I think that it is a great idea, especially in the long run, as SWGB is overshadowed by whatever game is in the works.

I think it is a good idea, though it will probably only be impressive when the new one in the works comes out, because until then it will only have SWGB and Force Commander... and we all know what a great game Force Commander was...

Or am I overlooking another RTS?

Admiral. You are forgetting the outstanding Rebellion/Supremacy game. A few years ago (ahem.. 1998) it was launched and it was excellent. Alot of people didnt like it because it was very deep in gameplay and took hours just to finish a game - unless you were really good.

It was a game where strategy did count and made the game exciting.

As for buying a copy of Force Commander Windu....only if you need another coaster in the house. Until Star Wars Galaxies came along, Force Commander was the worst SW game I had ever seen...considering also all the hype surrounding it.

Its graphically challenge, messy interface and a total nitemare to play. So erm.. no! lol

I played my first game of Galactic Battlegrounds in a long while and it was nice to see that I havent lost my touch ;-)

Force Commander... eeww. They tried to adapt the Sith engine (JK, MotS engine) to a rts game. What were they smoking?

It had a nice rendition of the Emperial March though.

Ah yes, Rebellion. Quite a good game, though the combat sucked. But yes it took far too long to play.

That sounds like a good diea.

And I thought FOCOM was an ok game...

And I still have not played that Rebellion/Supremacy game. I actually think I might like it, but no store has it and I would rather play a demo first...

After speaking with the powers that be, it was decided to go ahead with it...we are just working out on a name for the new website.
