Angry Flash Is Sh*t!!!!

Okay, so maybe it's not. But I'm having some major trouble making animations. I'm trying to make a simple animation where a worm from Worms World Party is doing a prod. (For those of you who don't play Worms World Party, click here to see the image I'm using.)

So anyway, the first frame of the prod, I create a new layer and make a rectangle in front of the worm's finger. On the second frame, I create a new frame and make the rectangle slightly thinner as if the worm was pressing it into the wall, like a button. This is where the trouble started. I don't know where to start. The second layer wasn't supposed to be shown ont eh second frame, but when I made it invisible it was the same for the first frame. Then the sam happened with the third frame and on an on. FLASH IS SH*T!!! I took a ton of tutorials and flipped through help files, and nothing helped. none of their stupid "help" files are explanatory at all: they act as if you're already an experienced user of Flash!!

Could someone skilled with this program help me make animation, or at least hold me back from generally swearing and flaming Macromedia? Thanks.

Sounds like you made the new layers but didn't select them, maybe? Are you dragging the frames further to the right as you make them?

1. What do you mean by selecting the layers?

2. Yeah, I am.

you must insert a keyframe every time the rectangle changes, other wise you're just changing the same rectangle that's shown over a couple of frames.

To create a key frame, click on the frame where you want to place it and press 'F6'. A new keyfrme should appear, it is represented by a black dot.

Then simply modify the rectangle as you did before, but this time it won't affect the first one you did.
