Unreal?
Republic Commando uses the unreal engine. Is that that Unreal 2 game engine? Please clarify.
PS If it is this game is gonna look mighty fine.

It will use the Unreal 2003 engine, and it's controls and weapon system are based on Halo's, so yes, it's gonna absolutely kick ass!

I been thinking about getting Unreal 2003, but I suppose it screws up on with a Radeon 9200 eh?

I have a GeForce4 Ti 4800 SE, so I couldn't say, but I can't see why it would be a problem. It (and the UT2004 demo) runs smooth as a babies bottom for me. I would wait for UT2004 to be released and get that instead because it incorporates all the elements of UT2003.
Why don't you d/l the UT2004 demo and see how it runs?

Because Jed has(had) a Radeon 9800 Pro, and it messed up for him. I seriously doubt it would run with my 9200.

Grar, there was something wrong with the hardware aspect of the card itself - it's getting replaced.
Might download the demo on this machine and give it a spin while my new computer is in limbo.

I think that developers using Unreal engine technology can actually keep updating the version of the engine, they're using in their game, as the engine team releases them, and the developers only have to stop when the game is close enough to being complete that it's engine code has to stop changing. Because of this, I'd say that Republic Commando will probably use Unreal engine technology closer that in UT2004 than that in 2003...
Also, since Republic Commando uses Unreal engine technology, it's going to ship with a level editor!

Nice! If Republic Commando is anything like this, it's gonna be the best SW game ever!
