This is a bit hard coming up with one "ultimate" band, especially if you are into different forms of music....
Rock/Crossover
Vocals - Zack de la Rocha(formerly RATM)
Bass - Flea, Tim(RATM, Audioslave) ....whoever
Lead/Rythm - Tom Morello(RATM, Audioslave)
Drums - Anyone except Lars.......(napster ruining muthaF****, I've download ALL my metallica albums MUHHAHA.....j/k )
hey, I might as well say I wish Rage Against The Machine got back together, coz they were the ultimate band.....IMO
Metal
Vocals/Bass - Glen Benton(Deicide)
Drums - Steve Asheim(Deicide)
Rythm/Lead - Brian & Eric Hoffman(Deicide)
...oh yeah, Deicide *are* the ultimate metal band....
......who are Deicide.........???
Hip Hop
Chuck D, Flavour Flav(Public Enemey), KRS-1 - Raps/Lyrics
Mix Master Mike(Beastie Boys) - Decks
Electronic
Vocals - Keith Flint(Prodigy), Hanin Elias(Atari Teenage Riot)
Programming, Beats n Samples - Alec Empire(Atari Teenage Riot)
Guy who doesnt do much but is still cool - Leeroy(Prodigy)
Country n Western
Who gives a F***
...... actually, Johnny Cash can go in here, he was sorta cool...
Older/Classic Rock
Why dont I cut to the chase and say Led Zep ! But they gotta do some Sabbath tracks to make it fair....
Punk
Dead Kennedys, Sex Pistols, all on stage together.....!!!!
Classical
Emma Kirkby - Divine Soprano
J. S Bach - Klavier/Komposer

All I know is that Steven Tyler would have to be on vocals.
Last.FM - Ow, give up the funk
Let the truth of love be lighted
Let the love of truth shine clear
Sensibility
Armed with sense and liberty
With the heart and mind united
In a single perfect sphere

Vocals/lyrics: Mike Patton (Tomahawk, Faith No More, Mr. Bungle, Fantomas)
Lead Guitar/backup vocals/samples:Al Jourgensen (Ministry, Revolting Cocks, Lard)
Rythm guitar/backup vocals: Sammy Pierre Duet (Acid Bath, Goatwhore)
On Bass, I can't decide between Dan Maines (Clutch), or Ryan Martinie (Mudvayne). They're both really good.
And last but not least, on drums: Tommy Buckley (Soilent Green).
A cookie to the person who actually knows who all those bands are.

I might poach Patton from your band and put him in mine As a big Mike Patton fan, I know all the bands you have credited him for - really into Tomahawk at the moment, and Mr. Bungle are possibly the strangest, unyet one of the most superbly brilliant bands around
I give up on the rest, mind I doubt many people would now Vic Wooten from my "ultimate band" - although he is by far the greatest bassist on the planet.

Yep. Not that there's alot of chances to shine on drums in a band like that.
