Post Transcript from a "victim" of Bush *may be offensive to some*

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to speak my mind. I lost my
job this
past year. When Clinton was president I was secure and prosperous,
but in
the last year, we had to close our operations. We simply could not
compete
with foreign labor. This foreign labor worked for low pay under very
bad
conditions.

They worked very long shifts, and many even died on the job.

This competition could hardly be called "fair." I was
forced out of the
place where I had worked for 34 years.

Not a single government program was there to help me.

How can Bush call himself "compassionate?" Far worse, I
lost two of my sons
in Bush's evil war in Iraq. They gave their lives for their country,
and for
what? So that Bush's oil buddies can get rich. My pain of losing my
sons is
indescribable.

While it is trivial next to the loss of my sons, I regret to say that
I also
lost my home. I simply have nothing left. How can Bush call himself a
Christian when he neglects people like me? I am a senior citizen with
various medical problems. I'm not in a position where I can begin a
new
career. I was reduced to the point where I had to live in a hole in a
ground, all because of President Bush.

And when the authorities found me there, did they have any compassion
for my
misfortune and ailments? No, I was arrested. Mr. Bush, I dare you to
look me
in the face and tell me you are a compassionate man! I dare you to
look me
in the face and tell me you are a Christian. If I had any money left,
I
would donate it to the Democrat Party.

If Al Gore had been elected in 2000 I would still have a job, a home,
and
most importantly, my dear sons!

Regards,
Saddam Hussein

Sue, it's the American way!- I forgot.

Well, the liberals, including clinton, congress and the courts, have made it so that foreigners have at least as much right to American property as Americans ... more, if you are an American making >$50,000 a year.

Economics are cyclical - president's are neither to praise or blame. And Clinton is the reason 9/11 happened. Thank him for the war.

I know ... I'm a very charitable person and we give generously of both our money and time (and the kids give of their old stuff) as we are blessed and very fortunate, but a country is responsible for its' own people, not the world ... and there are plenty of starving and underpriveleged Americans to deal with before letting all the border jumpers get a full paycheck at the taxpayers expense.

I think it goes back a bit further than that Mike....think cold war, think Afghani conflict, think CIA training Bin laden amongst others about subversive warfare, but as a tool against the Russians...... At about that time I think Billy Boy was still "not inhaling"....

secondly, "border jumpers" are jumping because of a reason....
because the lifestyle on your side of the border is "blessed and fortunate" ... my parents came to Australia to escape a civil war, they encountered xenophobia and racism by the bucketload every day. I am very proud of them for the sacrifices they have made and for the strength they have shown to perservere through many hardships. I simply would not exist had they not escaped their homeland......

Australia is having a very similar problem with refugees, which our leaders have handled very badly, IMO. Yep, they've put them all in jail, 1000s of men, women and children......

Absolutely - I'm to blame for using a generality which I rail against!

My simplistic point is that too often people blame Bush for the bad economy (or laud Clinton for the good one) when in reality it is more like the old statistics exampleshowing that you could correlate sunspot activity to Irish beer consumption ... but it is really coincidental.

I am no Republican - I abhor the hard right-wingers as much as the radical liberals. I have a significant issue with the blatant liberal bias in all of the world media I have access to (mainly US and UK).

The middle eastern conflict(s) are many, many centuries old. The US involvement is, well, about 60 years old now (post WWII) in the name of the UN. My point about Clinton is more that many of his specific actions and inactions have contributed to emboldening and forcing the hands of terrorists. Likewise, Bush - whether or not a war was inevitable - forced his hand way too early with his premature ultimatums.

As for immigrations, there is a significant difference between those who come to a new place to establish a new life, and embrace the challenge of setting up that life as their own ... and those who come to a new country expecting a free financial ride, free health care and housing, and not to have to learn the native language or customs. That is a current problem here - non-citizens are given rights and protections exceeding those of citizens. I applaud those striving to work for a better life for themselves and their familiies ... I have no patience for those looking to have me pay for them to sit on their butt eating twinkies and popping out more and more babies, as each new baby gets them more benefits.

I got that in an email from my aunt in which it was titled:
Dare we help this person in need?

When I read it was thinking that it MAY have been an american until the hole part and with the no compassion, etc.

Everyone is saying Bush lied to get us to go to war with Iraq, but I see it like this: Even if there were no weapons of mass destruction(wmd's), Iraq had a wmd program. Intelligence assumed this meant there were wmd's, and reported this to Bush. Iraq was given plenty of time to hide any wmd's they may have had by a slow moving UN.
