.md3/.md5 exporting

I have finished making my first hilt model, I've done the uvm mapping and made the textures. Now how to export it and get it in game? I've found lots of tutorials but they are all not working for me, I am using 3ds max 5. Some of the tutorials tell me to export it as a .md3, firstly this option is not available so I downloaded the plugin. But now when i try to open the file in modviewer it won't work, this will only import md5 files and i can't find a md5 exporter mod for 3ds max 5. Are there any tutorial specificaly for Ja and 3ds max or can anyone here help?
