Help me identify this adventure game

Long, long time ago my dad gave me a collection of about three games. I couldn't speak any English back then, but I was still happy to try one of the games because it was my favourite type: collect items, use them and talk to people.

Anyway, I just remembered this game and even found the disc, but it doesn't work anymore. I would like to know what game it was though. This is all I can remember:

You are this guy who watches TV, and goes to a hotel. While you are there your car gets stolen, and you decide to investigate the hotel. There is a room with an old granny, and in another room there are several men doing something. Probably playing cards. I think the mission was to find who stole the car or something. The room I remember the best was the kitchen, and you were able to pick up a knife there.

Does anyone know this game?
