BillTiller.com reveals never-before-seen art!

I just noticed that, at Bill Tiller's web site (http://www.billtiller.com), he has some never-before-seen art from The Dig on display!

In particular, look at Brink's hand trapped in the crevice and the split-open rock or life crystal. I don't recall ever seeing those in the actual game....but I could be wrong.

Also, the air lock screen looks vastly different. How weird.

Maybe we ought to ask Bill if we can put those on the site.

Very interesting.

I recall the closeup of the life crystal when Low breaks it over Brink the first time, however it was not made of rock and had no red stuff. I think I remember a closeup of Brink's hand in the crevice, and him straining to pull it out, but I too could be wrong.

The airlock scene seems to be in the open. I wonder why they'd have an airlock outside (OK, I concede airborne diseases and stuff ), and obviously they did too.

First time surrealists are often confused by the similarities between fish and telephones.

Wow, that's really neat! Congratulations on your discovery!

Boston: Ludger?

Ludger: It would have to be, wouldn't it, Commander?!

Some of the other pictures have slight differences. Hmm, I'm sure I've never seen these, unless my memory is just bad.

Of course there's the storyboard which I find very cool:

And some of these seem larger than the game art, and good quality, I just love this one, a good poster image:

By the way, if you never saw it, you should visit Lucasarts' 20th Anniversary site at lucasarts.com/20th, in the Concept Art area there are two beautiful Dig pictures.

Wow guys, congrats. (Why yes, it has been a long time). I'm actually in Switzerland right now, but when I get back I'll be sure to add a link on the site!

the outside airlock most likely comes from the version of the game that had no ocean. most of the art on his page is prepoduction, or edited for the dig we all know and love. I for one woudnt mind trying the other versions.
