my mom picked up mine from walmart on wednesday and she says it was the last one left. i'm wondering if this has anything to do with the fact that the first release batch has the charlotte dvd title and it will be changed to normal for the rest of the batches.

Yeah, I noticed that mine had that when it was on my DVD-ROM. Is it a mistake, or what?

I haven't gotten mine yet. I could have bought it the day it came out, but I decided to ask for it for my birthday. There's really no point in getting it on opening day (if you want to be "the first" too bad, some people got it a day before you anyway, due to stores "getting it early" "by accident").

Don't worry about them selling out. No movie sells out and never gets restocked. Besides, this is friggin' star wars. They'll get more copies, don't worry.

article from theforce.net about charlotte title name, well more like link to starwars.com article

anyways, there is a slight reason to get it now and not wait for restock because the restock won't have the charlotte title and you will forever know you didn't get it immediatly when it came out.

If you are trying to save money, go to Hollywood Video. I heard people were spending $25 on ROTS... I bought ROTS at $20.00 without it being on sale.

Mine cost 18 AND it came with the extra DVD that wal-mart gives you, so really RotS by itself was only $13 or $14.

And it sounds like the Charlotte thing could become a collectors edition kind of thing... sweet...

Silly. Well anyway, it's the same movie, regardless of when you buy it or how much you paid.

They won't run out of copies. It's making to much money already to stop making them. Lucas (although he says he's no in it for the money) wants what all humans really want: money.
They won't "sell out". It just won't happen (at least it better not).

This reminds me of the rumors that were going around that the OT DVD's were going to "run out" or be pulled from shelves to drive up demand or something. Totally false of course.

I'm a little surprised how well ROTS is doing. If all the fans are this hyper... that sure goes a long way to explaining all the money its surely taking in!

Then again it may have something to do with the thought that "oh no this is the LAST STAR WARS FILM EVER MY CHILDHOOD IS OVER" type of nostalgic feelings. I mean, remember the words along those lines in like every review and blog about the movie when it was in theaters?

It's like even people who aren't that big of fans and hated or ignored the prequels are getting copies, just so they can be "in on the fun," or something.

Uh... when did he say production would stop? He's just commenting on how stores are selling out.

Anyway, the point in getting the movie the first day is so you can watch it as early as possible.
