Stuck in MI4/ cant get elain give me the symbole

Hello there,

I am stuck in MI 4 where I should get the Gubernatorial Symbol from Elaine and give it to the Mistress to get a ship.

Needless to say i 've tried everything and I believe only talking to Elain and have the symbol would get me out of that phase.

I am ready to send the savegame file or receive a savegame file if only it helps me understand whyyyyyyyy Elaine is not talllllking to me

Wow, it's been a while since I've played this game or had to give hints on it. Let's see. Have you actually gone to the harbour mistress so that guybrush knows he has to go ask for the symbol? can't think of anything else.
