I hate to bring this up, but wasn'd Maul an Iridorian? Bao-Dur from TSL was, and they have the same horns and similar facial markings, though Bao-Dur is only one colour.

Maul was a zabrak. He was a different color because he was all kinds of tattooed. The black was all tattoo. The red was all tattoo. And Maul is canon. Bao-Dur is not.

Nope. As Kain said Maul was a Zabrak.
Bao-Dur was a Zabrak as well, his homeworld was Iridoria.

Which ironically enough, is where all the Zabraks come from - including our dear Darth Maul.

Yeah i loved it i felt it also gave you insight into how crappy it is to live in the underbelly or coruscant.
But yeah before that book i also thought of Maul as weak.

Yup, I guess Zabrakia just doesn't roll off the tongue quite as nicely!

Well if Darth Maul is Zabrak, isn't Bao-Dur Iridorian? I assumed they were the same species, or are they offshoots of a common thread?

OK, now I'm really confused, if Irridoria is the homeworld of the Zabrak, and Bao-Dur is a Zabrak even though he is called an Iridorian in the game dialog, then what is the Iridorian on Manaan? ...wait....Zabrak.....hmmmm.....Irridorian.....yea h I'm definately confused, wow..... maybe both names are sort of short versions of something like Irridak-Zabridorians, and where is Irridoria anyway? AND FOR GOD'S SAKE HOW MANY R'S are there in IRRRIDORIAN ???

um its really simple Zabraks are like humans and have colonised lots of different planets so instead of calling them Zabrak they are named fro the planet they come from
like how Humans from Naboo are called the Naboo and humans from corellia are called corellians.
