It could say "Amongst the Ruins" somewhere and "Niner_777". Something like that. You can spice it up if you like. You can crop like the top and bottom if you think that it would look better. Feel free to read the fic while you're at it too. Also, if you find a picture that you think would be better you can show me.

I would like to request a sig pic, but not exactly sure how exactly do I want it. All I know is that I want Roy Jones Jr on it, but then I have to find a nice picture. I guess with the same saying I have on my sig right now.

Okay, I've made two versions, but both are insanely huge. The first one, 439 x 148, comes in at 628 KB!!

The second resized one is 300 x 101, at 317 Kb.

Reducing the size further would make the thing look a little too small, I'll have to edit the layer styles and all that. I won't do that right now, some other time when I have a fresh mind...

Can someone aid me with this sig pic request? because I have a picture of roy jones' and I guess someon could cut some of him off to make a good banner and merged together. Like if someone could make it to where its a banner where the top Roy Jones Picture is cut off directly beneath his right hand to make it more of a banner size. Then basically just put the same text tile and possibly the line in the second picture that is going through the Animated Roy Jones Jr. Just the same font, but I guess somewhat smaller so it's an actual banner. Then there's a fade and the first part The Sun Dont Shine Forever then another fade to the 2nd part As Long As Its Here then we might as well shine together. Then repeat. so basically Roy Jones, first part, 2nd part, and vice versa. Could you do the text like how the 2nd picture is like? sorry if it's too demanding, but i highly appreciate it.

Whoa! That's a bigger kb than what I thought it would be. I could try to resize it myself, that I can do. But you done a great job, it's exactly as I had imagined it.

I shall soon be doing a Fic like Niner_777, based on a Battlefront II mission. I need a banner with this image and it needs A Desperate Rescue and Pottsie on it. Other than that, you can spice it up as much as you want.

EDIT: If anyone makes it, please make it slighter bigger at the top and bottom, but not too much. Thanks again.

2nd Edit: Can someone also make me a Sith Lord Banner. I want a black background with The Sith Lord and Pottsie on there. The writing must be red. Thanks again.

You want this bigger top bottom blackened, like widescreen, or you want the image stretched?

Just stretched slightly, but not too much, so it doesn't make the picture blurred.

That square effect can be best recreated by Xbx. I know a few ways, but they aren't looking good. Give him a PM and ask/bribe/force/bully him to do it. Sorry!

I can't seem to get animated avatars to work. Would someone mind explaining the process? They have to be animated .gif, right?

I'm not exactly sure how to do it in free software like Gimp, but I think in photoshop/imageready you just say 'save as animation' or 'save optimized as' and the layers will be the animation. But I'm no pro at making animations, I mostly have just edited them in imageready.

I did use an "optimized as .gif", and had some success with animation playback in the editor, but after saving it and uploading it here it doesn't animate? (it's supposed to be blank and flash the message, I know it looks crappy right now, but I'm just using it to figure out how to animate them)
Are there any options that are required to be selected when saving?

When you try to save a GIF with multiple layers, you should get the option: "Save as Animation." When you select that, you will get some options. You want to select "Replace Layer." It should be in the bottom right of the menu that pops up.

There should also be an option to set the time between frames. If you already have a time specified on a layer, it will not override it. (If you have a time by a layer, it will show on the layers menu on the main screen. You can delete the time the same way you would change the layer name.)

Its been a while since I played with GIMP though. I don't have it on my computer right now, so I can't double check the proccess exactly.

EDIT:

Though, I wouldn't recommend an animation that fast. It would get annoying pretty quick. However, if you save it and open it in GIMP all you have to do is edit the time between frames. You can edit the text layer anyway you like without it messing.

does anyone here use Macromedia Fireworks? i got the full edition and its 90% like photoshop, so i was able to make my sig and avatar, but does anyone know the more deeper functions?

Fireworks is cool, and has tons of cool effects and such, but really, nothing beats Photoshop - except maybe GIMP... <_< >_> I keed, I keed.

It's too shallow, IMO. But of course, the best pics are made from a combination of the various tools. So sayeth the 'tooth.

I saved yours the exact same way I saved mine, it must have something to do with setting up layers?

Edit: I switched the two layers in mine and it works now!???

Does the bottom layer have to be the transparent one?

Nope. The layer order is just the order it will display when loaded. Sinse there is no way to tell when people are looking at your avatar, it doesn't really matter on a forum. However, lets say you had a web page and wanted your name to appear at some random interval after opening the page, then you would set the time to whatever you wanted.

The only reason I put the blank layer first was to make it appear that you did not have an avatar. Then BAM! "Join The Daft Side!" But like I said, you can't really do that with a forum.
