A chance to roleplay(spoilers)

This has been said before, but I will say it again. For KOTOR 3 I would really like to have a chance to roleplay my character's class more. I remember when I was a dark consular in KOTOR and got Zelbar to kill Mission on the Unknown Planet and it was good. I remember in KOTOR 2 as a Sith Lord being able to get those two thugs on Nar Shadarr to throw themselves off of the building and it was good. However this choices were the exception and not the rule.

As a Sith Lord I would love to have the choice to corrupt people into doing my bidding. It should not be a choice all the time but enough of the time to make it feel like I am role playing rather than doing one or two cool things in the game. It's easy to role play a guardian, just go in swinging. But it is much harder to role play a sith lord or assassin.

Plus I think that they should make your alignment effect conversation options just like the stats did in KOTOR 3. A charismatic Sith Lord, can you tell that I like Sith Lords yet?, should have different conversation options than a marauder and a marauder should have some conversation options that are different than an assassin. Again it shouldn't be completely different but different enough to get a sense of role playing your class. Maybe that should be some quests that are open to only certain classes for the sake of role playing.

Also if you are a jedi master you should have some kind of claming presence that reduces the chance of fighting. Conversely if you are a Sith Lord you should have some sort of fearful presence that gives a chance that the enemy will flee. You could attach some XP points if it is successful that way out offset the lack of XP because you didn't fight.

Very good point, I'd like different conversation options for each class. It would make me stop clicking through all the conversations on the umpteenth playthrough.

I agree so much, as a sith lord you should be cruel and cunning and most of your party should be more minions then friends, should be truelly twisted and sick in destroying jedi. while jedi masters should bee calm and seek things through peaceful matters and his allys should be trusted and advisors.

Yes role playing and doing stuff like you mentioned is good, but dont limit it to certain classes. It should be the player himself who decides, not the class. Let the Class just determine your abilities, not your attitude.

QFE The only place in the Star Wars Universe with the classes are in the two KotOR games.

My thinking is, as you become darker you shouldn't have as many light side options. If you are close to Sideous then why would you be nice? Sure if something huge comes along, like when Vader had to choose between the Emperor and Luke, you can have the option to do something like side, but your choices should logically follow the side that you are on. Conversely even as a light-sider you should have evil options since there is always the lure of corruption. But if you are completely light side the options should be only a little dark. Anakin didn't start by killing off all the Jedi; it was after a series of dark side choices. As for class I think that you should always have the option to do things that are, marauder-like or assassin-like even if you are a sith lord. However the more you act like a sith lord the more the options should reflect that. Maybe you should have a counter that acts like the dark/light meter that determines how much your dialogue choices reflect your class.

True a person shouldn't be stuck in a certain class but there should also be role-playing rewards for sticking with a certain class. Hopefully this makes sense.

If you have the power dominate mind, you can order Zaalbar to kill Mission during the confrontation on the beach. If you intend on taking Zaalbar with you to the Star Forge, though, it's pointless. He'll attack you on the first deck to get revenge for being forced to kill Mission.

I like this idea; K2 did a good job already by linking the number of options you would get based on things like intelligence, charisma, wisdom, and skills, but your job class should play a role in decisions as well.

No two people would approach a situation the same way, and with the way the Jedi/Sith classes specialize in one talent over another, it makes sense that they would have drastically different problem solving skills to draw on.

In KOTOR 3 I just want to be a "Sith Lord" who is something other than some jackass who kills people for fun.

I like this idea, instead of telling people to get lost, you should be able to ignore them. Something I would really like to see is the ability to do thing like lightning people in the conversation, or use force choke to get information out of them. Imagine it, instead of using Force persuade or persuade to get them to talk, just use force choke. Or if someone is annoying you in a conversation, use fear on them. I would really like to do that. But we have to remember the light side too, be able to heal or anything like that, in the conversation window.

I see what you mean, but I myself want to have total control over all decisions my character has to make in a RPG. If I am totally evil, I still want to have the option to be nice. I as the player want to decide that.

I agree that it is unrealistic for totally evil characters to be nice, but I still want to have that option.

Makes me feel in control. ^^
