New EU game Star Wars: Lethal Alliance
http://www.gamespot.com/news/6155908...stnews;title;1
Quote:
With all the hoopla surrounding the flurry of new games in the Star Trek franchise, fans of another sci-fi series, Star Wars, may have felt left out. Publisher Ubisoft is attempting to allay those concerns, however, with the release of Star Wars: Lethal Alliance, a Sony PSP and Nintendo DS game set for release in December.
The French publisher has signed "a long-term licensing partnership with LucasArts," which owns the Star Wars video game licensing rights.
Although Lethal Alliance will appear on the DS and the PSP at the same time, the two versions weren't made by the same developer: Ubisoft's Montreal division handled the PSP game, while the publisher's Casablanca studio produced the DS version. Each game will be tailored to take advantage of its host system, but Ubisoft didn't say how.
Lethal Alliance weaves a tale around the Imperial-fighting escapades of Twi'lek Rianna Saren, a skilled Rebel Alliance fighter and acrobat, and her security droid, Zeeo, a defensive specialist. In relation to the franchise's saga, the game fits between the last prequel to appear in theaters--2005's Episode III: Revenge of the Sith--and the first movie of the original trilogy, 1977's Episode IV: A New Hope.
Ubisoft said Lethal Alliance players must take advantage of each character's unique strengths to progress--the ultimate goal being the theft of the Death Star's blueprints. There is no word yet, however, on how many Bothan spies must die for players to accomplish the mission. Rianna and Zeeo will travel to a variety of locations in that galaxy far, far away, including the Death Star itself, the Skywalker home base Tatooine, and Alderaan, before its Death Star destruction in A New Hope. Lethal Alliance will include a multiplayer mode, but Ubisoft declined to announce its details.
Notable Star Wars characters making an appearance in Lethal Alliance include Darth Vader, Boba Fett, Princess Leia, and Kyle Katarn--the gruff mercenary whose game roots extend back to the Dark Forces and Jedi Knight first-person shooters on the PC..

So someone else is once again stealing the death plans...
So thats Kyle Katarn, Bria Tharen and now Rianna Saren.

Lol, as uncanon as it may be, it looks interesting. I'll probably be buying it.

canon character with "maybe" canon ending, as usual?
BTW how did they retcon Bria Tharen anyways? Currently its Katarn that stole the Plans.
And from what we see, the Twi'lek Chick seems to be doing it for the first deathstar, not the second(the second one is stolen by a guy who dates droids).

i think they retconned it so both kyle and bria only stole parts of the plan
Which makes sense im sure the empire wouldnt be stupid enough to have the deathstar plans in one place.

News (sort of)
From some random game-related magazine it is posted that the helper droid (Zeeo?) for the Twi'lek chick actually have a forcefield generator that can deflect blaster shots, acting as shielding for the Heroine, amongst other things.
So now even non-force people can deflect blaster shots?

No, the Droid can. Nothing wrong with that.

Well, I sm hoping for the game showing up on Wii(not likely?) or maybe PS3(Likely, but too expensive)
Not really a microSocks fan and not into xxxboxed
Seriously though, these kind of games would be more fun on a bigger screen.

Yeah, what's the last decent SW flight sim we had?
Rogue Squadron IMO, back on N64 lol
I saw there was some flight stuff in Battlefront, but I've never been able to play that game...Does anyone know if it's good?

Well it's more arcade I suppose, but I thought that's what Astro meant...Or maybe it's the X-Wing series...

Ok for the Shadows of the Empire cross media franchise back in the day. Dash Rendar personally stole the plans to the second Death Star in the video game, Luke stole them in the book, Bothans in the comic but nobody stole them on the soundtrack...
As for the first Death Star plans... maybe Katarn, Tharen and the new Twi-Lek all stole the plans then they crossreferenced them to find out the station weakness... ok I'm reaching (and frankly I don't care anymore), but I am practically forced to to this in order to maintain some sort of order in the SW universe, with all new canon and un-canon stories released.
in vino veritas

Lets hope Kyle get to charge up her loading ramp...
*ough* actually a nice sexy scene or two would be nice, or an alternative costume. I mean, Twi'lek girls deserve their skimpy dancers outfit, even Secura slipped into one.
