Public Apology: To LucasForums

Public Apology: To LucasForums,

For the past three weeks, I have been recovering from surgery. I was able to go home, but I was not aloud out of the house. Thursday this past week, I was taken off of a very powerful painkiller. Hydrocodine (sp?). After arriving back into the forums, I have been reluctant in posting. Why? I made a complete arse out of myself while on the medication. I re-read the threads that I have posted in, and I cannot believe my behavior or my illogic perspective. I can only ask the forums to forgive my lack of respect and clearity. I wish I could do more to redeem myself. Hydrocodine (sp?) makes a person feel intoxicated and unbalanced, and it also causes people to become irrational.

Once again, I apologize to all,
MacLeod

Don't worry Mac, I'm sure the Mods will forgive you. Also, I feel sorry for your recent surgery. Hope the future is okay for you.

Mac, I didn't notice you being extremely rude or anything like that, but I can back you up on the fact that painkillers do weird things. After I had surgery on my ankle, they gave me vicodin, which is basically the same, stuff makes crazy things happen, lol, feel better man.

Don't know what he had surgery for, but I can say that most surgeries don't hurt at all, because they either knock you out or jack you up with a heavy local anesthetic. The parts before and/or after the surgery is what usually involves pain and discomfort. In general though, with todays medicine and medical technology, surgery isn't something to fear most of the time.

Hey, I make an arse of myself all the time but the people here are too polite to complain...

The following tale of alien encounter is true and by true, I mean false. Its all lies. But they're entertaining lies, and in the end isn't that the real truth? The answer is no.

Some lady with a piece of paper on her wall said I could take 'em. Well, not codine. Although I did have to take that one time when I got teeth pulled.

Ever been given Demerol after surgery before? One minute you're fully alert, and the next it's happy land. The last day the nurse came in to give me the shot, I said, "Um, Tylenol instead? Please?" We all lose our minds when we're drugged. I'm sure no one will hold a permanent grudge. (hug)

I didn't even notice that you did such things. But it's nice for an apology. Don't worry about it--I believe that you will recover soon. Good luck.

No worries, man. A medicated, deranged you was still more polite and coherent than sober, unmedicated other people I won't mention.

Didn't notice anything Mace except for that comment you made about liking me but I took that to mean a point. No worries. The strongest meds I have ever been on was a combo of sinus cold meds and cefalexin for a sinus infection. I was in limbo and my dad couldn't understand why all I wanted to do was sleep and wallow.

I had to take that stuff a few times. It makes me think that I'm normal and the rest of the universe belongs in Hotel Asylum. This is not a sign of normal thinking, btw.

I was whacked out enough one time when I was really sick to ask someone (who I was supposed to be having a serious conversation with) if someone else had written his email for him. And I remember thinking at the time I wrote it that this was a perfectly reasonable thing to ask. Obviously, I needed some serious meds at that point, or at least a fruity drink at Hotel Asylum. A couple of days later, I re-read the email and was horrified to see the incredible level of stupidity I had managed to create, and I had to do some serious apologizing. But man, while I was bad sick, the world totally made sense.

From MST3K's spoof of "Hercules Unchained"--heard as Roman medic soldiers carry off an unconscious Greek Hercules on a 1950's Army green canvas stretcher: "Hi, we're IX-I-I. Did somebody dial IX-I-I?"

You didn't seem too illogical to me, Mac. But if you're recovering, that's what matters.

seriously though mate, i wouldnt worry. Not to say too much, but my stepmum had an operation for terminal cancer within the past couple of weeks, and she was very "not her" during the drugs phase. And then there was my best friend who got pushed out infront of a 7 tonne flatbed lorry. He just doesnt seem him anymore.
any, cutting the sob story, my heart goes out to ya mate. good luck, and i hope you recover soon.
