Sasha?
What kind of name is that? I mean really! I would kill myself if my name was Sasha.

His name always confused me. Because "Nein" is German but isn't "Sasha" Russian? I don't know if they name dudes "Sasha" in Germany... maybe his mom was Russian and his dad was German.
Or maybe he's transsexual. Who knows what's up with that name?

He says he hates his name, and that it's pronounced Sash-Ka.
But that's only on his livejournal.
"A few times in my life I've had moments of absolute clarity. When for a few brief seconds, the silence drowns out the noise and I can feel rather than think, and things seem so sharp and the world seems so fresh. I can never make these moments last. I cling to them, but like everything, they fade. I've lived my life on these moments. They pull me back to the present and I realize that everything is exactly the way it was meant to be."

Sasha is indeed Russian but people in Germany did name their children Sasha ( or his mom was Russian?) and the whole shoe business gives it away that he's German.
What's so wrong with the name Sasha? That's my favorite male name.

In europe, Sasha is more of a male name. in the UK and US, it's more a female name... it's apparently a pet term for Alexander though.

I like the name Sasha. I guess it's worn on me though, when I first heard it I thought it was a girl's name. But it's still awesome.

I think in Germany/Russia it would actually be spelled "Sascha".
...
At least that's what I'm told.

...and what's this about Sasha's livejournal? Ne?

I'm experiencing double posting shame, but I finally finished reading that thing and had to point out that some of his interests on his profile page and kinda weird. Zen Buddhism? I can't see Sasha being a Buddhist?

Sasha's not Buddhist, but is very interested in Zen Buddhism.
As for the name, I think it's a wonderful Russian name (it's actually my middle name and my dad's name, since we're from Russia... it's not so unisex there). It's 'Sascha' in German, pronounced the same way.

He says he's part Luthran, part Zen Buddist.

You had my hopes up for a sec.
I'll have to talk to the real Sasha then.
