Best M?
Following suit with my thread about who the best actor to play James Bond, I decided to act who the best actor/actress to play his boss is. Growing up with Brosnan as Bond, I personally would have to go with Judi Dench.

I like Judi Dench. I think she suits the role. She did exceptionally well as M when Brosnan was Bond. And was decent in Casino Royale. I'll give her that. And, hey, I am used to her being M.
But, I think Bernard Lee was very good as M also. He did many of them from what I recall. I might be mistaken. But, he suited the role of M, too.
So, it's a toss-up between Judi Dench and Bernard Lee and Robert Brown.
EDIT: I see that Brown had appear in quite few. So, I toss him in with the other two since they all seem pretty good to me.

Judi Dench for me, since she is the only one I've seen as M.

Definately Judi Dench, for her brilliant dialogue in Tomorrow Never Dies:
Admiral Roebuck: "With all due respect, M, I think you don't have the balls for this job."
M: "Maybe. But the advantage is, I don't have to think with them all the time."
Sheer brilliance
"I think the Devil ****s Dutchmen."

Judi Dench FTW! She can capture the imperious attitude needed for M perfectly. She also did a great job as Queen Elizabeth I in Shakespeare in Love.

Definitly Judi Dench.
M is Judi Dench for me, even though I've probably seen every James Bond movie at least twice, I can hardly remember the other guys.

Bernard Lee as he is the original M, though Judi Dench kicks some real butt though as M.
