Like, OMG, a computer from my totally tubular days in high school!

I want my TRS-80!!

Happily, I have my Atari fix--the brought the games out for PC.

From MST3K's spoof of "Hercules Unchained"--heard as Roman medic soldiers carry off an unconscious Greek Hercules on a 1950's Army green canvas stretcher: "Hi, we're IX-I-I. Did somebody dial IX-I-I?"

Some of my earliest gaming experiences was playing B1 Bomber, Star Trek, an adventure game(I forget the title) and Space Shuttle on the TRS-80. I'd love to be able to do that again.

Heh...our first home computer was an Apple II+. 48 whopping big K of memory. Lode Runner, Karateka...can't even remember the games other than those two. Spent a LOT of quarters down at the arcades, though.

And about two weeks ago, I bought my first MP3 player. 512 meg, 84 songs on something the size and weight of a cigarette lighter. What did I ever do without this thing...?

I know that times. My first computer was a Sinclair ZX Spectrum with 64kb memory (16kb used by ROM). I still have about 9000 games and programs for this which can be used on emulator.

Atari 800XE for me. Super Cobra, River Raid, Space Rescue, Star Raider, Choplifter and Spy vs. Spy trilogy w00t.

Still have it all dumped at my uncles place. And of course an emulator which runs all the games. 8 Bit ftw!

lolz.... I first heard about this last year when commodore announced their media tower, media box and the gravel media player.

I dunno. Sure, we're all nostalgic towards the C64 but does that mean we need to go out and buy their stuff........? they have alot to prove IMO, and will have to do something really clever to rival, let alone topple the likes of MS and Sony

I had a C64, an amiga 500 and 1200 so I pwn>all with my retro 1337ness

for all you kids watching at home the amiga 1200 boasted an amazing 16Mhz CPU with up to 8MiB(Mebibytes) of RAM. Nb. 1 mebibyte = 1024 kilobytes.

As a comparison....A higher end Vista based PC needs at least 2.0Ghz CPU(dual core recommended) and 1GB RAM.

Please! This is just some OEM company trying to cash in on a nostalgic brand. Anyone with the cash can build a killer gaming PC. The industry is not like it was 20 years ago, there are a thousand different options now for consumers. We have access to all the same components that the OEMs do.

I don't see this being any different than Companies Like Alienware(which are hugely overpriced)

C64 was great for its time, but it is a dinosaur.
