Wow, with all the CG inserted it looks a lot more bad ass. But when I was reading the books I kinda imagined Oxford to look like a 1950's version of the world. Wasn't expecting the cool juice steam-punkish look.

I read the first one way back when it came out. When I head it was being made into a film I hauled it out and started cramming through it again, I'm about halfway done now.
EDIT: I heard they took all of the religious commentary out of the movie, that'll ruin it.

I haven't read it. Though, I suppose I probably should 'cause I'll probably see this movie. As well as the fact, Daniel Craig, in which, I have grown into fan of his.

Apparently the first time Chris Weitz was supposed to be director he wanted to sidestep the issue, then he resigned, then his successor resigned, then he took charge again and hasn't mentioned it since. To be true to the source material you really can't take it out.

Definitely read the books first.
I also thought that the world would be set in either turn of the century or in the 1950s. If they cut out the religion stuff, it'll kill the story.
This is just my opinion....

Lookin' Sweet. I'll try to get the books, though. This is one of those few something-to-movie adaptations that grab my interest. Teaser's fantastic!

Looks pretty sweet.
Weird as it is, right after I watched the trailer, I came across all 3 books on a certain site. Gonna start reading em tomorrow probably.
