Hey, Hey. A little blood in it will be fine! (One of the new screenshots has it)The JK2 webpage! Check out the new screens! One has blood, the right amount! But it should be able to be turned off.

who cares a little blood and gore never hurt anyone, and the people who complain about this stu are the ones who take gaming TOO seriously, but hell a little blood never hurt anyone

The fact is:

There is blood in SW,

When Ben Kenobi cut off the arm of the Alien in the Mos Eisley Cantina, (EIV)

when Obi-Wan Kenobi cut Darth Maul in half you see the blood evaporate as mentioned earlier (EIV) (I like this effect very much).

In JK2 you should be able to cut everything off, what your lightsabre hits, otherwise it wouldn't give you the feeling of realism.

I agree, no blood would just make it into a kiddies game.

Not necessarily, but as I was trying to say before.. ADDING blood wouldn't necessarily make it a "Mature" game either...

speaking of cutting things, how about cutting through a personal sheild? i mean of course it would slice a person, but how about your sheild at 200%? i mean, would one slice take it out? or what? how are they gonna do that?

If you'll pardon my Treknobabble, they could say that the saber's contact with the shield provokes such a fierce reaction that an overload surges back through the personal generator, zapping the user. Also the potential heat of the clash between two different types of energy field could be harmful.

ok, thats a cool answer for a SW book, where the good guy has a saber, and the bad guy has a sheild, but what i was driving at, was what do you think the system that will be implimented in JKii consist of. will it take out the sheild in one shot (doubtful, for then there would be no use for it) or will it take say, up to 50 % depending on how much contact, or what?

Well for kids they could add a parental password protection system to turn off the blood, so there is no reason not to add it

Yes, but most games that try that wind up looking pointlessly gruesome or just plain corny...

No, actually, Half-Life was exactly what I had in mind with "just plain corny". To each their own, I guess...
