Problems At Return To El Marrow.

I recently got the game again.

I've been playing it recently, had some problems with it crashing. I installed the patch, those problems stopped happening.

Now I'm currently at Return To El Marrow, I've just got the Johnny Thunder make-up and went into the slot machine area, I spoke to the LSA guy, he seemed to cycle off. At this point I thought it was alright, I spoke to Meche that I was in fact Manny however when I tried applying the sheet on Charlie, I tried looking for the LSA guy to mess with the machine but he is nowhere to be found, I can hear his cycle and the sound of it screeching (that seriously annoys me) and he's nowhere to be found.

Help would be much appreciated, I really don't want to start the game all over again, even though I did enjoy it again after 4 years.

Thanks.

sorry for giving the same advice, but I'd recommend using a save file from grimfandango.net. This really sounds like a glitch I had once where I think he started rolling off and kept rolling off right out of the screen. Did you try going in front of the slot he was at and pressing the talk button? There might be a chance he'll respond and pop back in.
